Can we get a rough figure as to When to change these quality filters and also the oils. I mean in terms of Time, cos some cars can't get them to reach 5K km a year.
e.g. Mobil1 5w40 and BD28, used for a year for 3K km: When to change the filter, when to change the oil?
These standard tests can get us some hard facts about oil filters.
Multi-Pass Filter Test
ISO 16889
ISO 4548-12
ISO 19438
SAE J1858
These testing services are available in the states. I hope some car clubs send filters for testing else we're left with the manufacturer's own test result statements. So far I haven't found a comparative using any of these tests.
If you happen to find oil filter comparisons using these tests please don't hesitate to post the link here.
can somebody post the name of the store (and its location) that sell JS filters?
thanks
Sir Dvldoc, I don't have info with regards to the LF 3462 filter media, Is it just plain paper or reinforced synthetic media?
The LF3462 is Cellulose, 95% efficient at 30 microns 50% *15 microns. Fleetguards use a heavy duty Cellulose blend that's why they hold up to 4 times more dirt than your average over the counter filter.
Its a shame that Volmax do not carry the equivalent of VIC C513 and C506.
Its for a bypass setup for a 4BE1 Isuzu.

So today tried out Warren and fortunately they do have the Bosch equivalent.
I will try these Bosch with Delo 400 by next week.
^ Bosch counterpart for C-306 is abut P350 *warren so its cheaper and better than Vic by a long ways.
LF3522(P200) and LF3523 (P350) ng fleetguard from W&L Trading sir meron.Mura din siya although mas mura nga yung sa Bosch. Kung hindi naman extended drain interval hanap mo, sulit na sulit yung bosch IMO * P270 & P170.

^So Bosch won't last at least 10,000 kms ? BTW the Bosch I got from Warren, one is made in Korea and the other is indonesia.
As for Fleetguard, there are lots of fakes esp. from the most famous one, PAcer.
Surprisingly, the Fleetguards are not that much more expensive than Bosch.
Its a shame, Volmax doesn't carry B7033 and B201-S. Those would be the perfect replacement to the VIC.

Volmax have the B1422, I think that crosses with B7033. Sadly B201-S is not in their inventory.
It's good to know that bosch can be used up to 10,000kmsYes, the manufacturing for bosch has one in Korea and the other in Indonesia. Found out about it because of the oil filters for 4d56 and 4m40 are different.

A Bosch should be able to make it 10000klm which is only around 6000 miles, not exactly a extended oil change interval. Remember oil and filters have improved since many of these older vehicles first came out.
Apologies if I wasn't able to find it sa thread but how much ang going price ng Baldwin B118? Does volmax also sell Baldwin fuel filters? (BF7534 to be exact)
Yes they sell both oil and fuel filters. And yes they carry the BF7534 (when it's in stock) you would have to ask them for pricing on the B118, Last time I heard the fuel filter was around 800P and there smaller filters like the B118 run around 350P.

Unless there is a definite method in determining those fake fleetguards, Baldwin and Bosch are the only safe alternatives.
As for Baldwin, it depends on what model you are looking for. BD28 is really hard to come by. But regular BT223, B1402 are quite common.
As for Bosch, there are constant supply from Warren Trading. Bosch will probably the bottom brand you would settle for locally.
