When you can just put a one whole filter with higher efficiency filtration media sa loob ng isang can type filter? Why would you need to split two types one of an inferior media together with a better capacity one? It's just plainly aesthetics, if there is a lower capacity filtration at the top then the engine oil filtered will just contaminate the oil which is filtered by the bottom higher capacity filtration filter media. In the end you end up contaminating the better filtered oil with the poorly filtered oil.
Why don't they just put a one piece high filtration efficiency filter media inside the spin on can type filter like what high quality Mann+Hummel, WIX & other branded filters?

This is the simplest explanation for such unnecessary filter structure designed by VIC.

How to choose the right size of filter for a particular car?
Are all filter socket/diameter the same or standard for all cars?

    No,
    Identify the car make/model
    Identify the Engine
    Identify the filter
Go to cross-reference section of filter vendor to search for the suitable filter

There are also bypass filters which channels a small portion of oil for greater efficiency. Simplest explanation by fluid dynamics is, the slower the flow, the greater the filtration.

VIC's double core filter has one lower filtration efficiency media and one higher one they both go through the same inner steel support tube for the filtered oil that will be circulated to the engine, the engine oil that passes through two different filtration efficiency filters will just end up being contaminated by the lower filtration filter media.

As far as I know there are already authorized shop dealers & online dealers for WIX filters. They have cut open the WIX & VIC filters, starting with the number C-110, C-306 and etc... when they saw what's inside of VIC the other dealers were horrified the construction of VIC filters inside were below average, excess adhesive around the filter media & bad paper media.
Also WIX filters can last 10,000 km up to 15,000 km depending on type of engine oil you are using compared to VIC which only lasts from 5,000 km to 10,000 km.

The authorized dealers I know so far are

Most discussions here are about oil filters, now what about fuel filters are there also preferred brands? Or should I stick to the oem for fuel filters?

The same good brands for oil filters are also as good in constructing fuel filters sir. So basically they're just the same good brands whether for oil or fuel filtration.

Thanks for clarifying. But after doing some search in the net, the good brands like Wix, Baldwin etc have limited fuel filters unlike their oil filters. Like for the fortuner diesel fuel filter, with the part number I got, wala silang filter
