I think si japanabc din nagsabi na problem with fake air cabin filters is pwede hindi mafilter ang asbestos coming from fake or poor quality brakepads of other cars.
Although i think asbestosis is rare na

Chaka ang isang way para mabawasan ang risk online is to ask the Facebook page of the certain brand sino ang authorized dealers nila, they'll verify it for you.
Problem kasi mga magagandang brands hindi masyado cinacarry ng regular auto supply or traditionalist auto supply because they only sell kung anong nakasanayan nila since before na brands. You can't see Amsoil sa mga auto supplies, usually mga newer type of shops that specializes in higher end brands ang makikita mo nagcacarry ng more premium brands sa market. Then mga normal or maka luma na auto supplies puro mainstream brands ang dala nila.

Yung mga jeepneys, taxis and etc... still uses asbestos when they have their brakes re bond sa mga brake and clutch re bonding shops. May mga commercial trucks and buses that still buy asbestos brake linings till today. Since asbestos is the cheapest brake material in the market.

Then after searching sa internet regarding more reviews, qualities & etc... I found an article with comparisons ng Motorcraft filter cutout vs. Baldwin and WIX filters cutout.

Comparison lang sa US domestic market ng Motorcraft vs. Baldwin vs. WIX oil filters of the same application model.

Fake filters have less fibers when you look it up with a microscope also mas manipis filter media nila allowing more contaminants and particles to enter the cabin where the driver and passengers reside. Mas malaki din ang pores or opening ng fake filters so expect na more and more pm2.5(particulate matter) and contaminants to enter the insides of your vehicle.

The difference is with high reputable branded filters like WIX & etc... is like WIX meron silang Microban formula and technology that they added sa layer ng cabin filters nila which kills or prevents molds and bacteria from growing or spreading.

Sa naked eye you can't see the layers, material, fibers and etc... sa cabin filters but when you use a microscope doon mo makikita ang laki ng difference ng cheap filters sa high quality ones.

Photo will explain yung how reputable manufacturers put layers of filters and other technologies on the cabin filters.

Just found out that umamin na ang isang VIC filter authorized dealer/seller na mas inferior daw talaga ang filtration nila.

He also mentioned that somehow the premium version of VIC filters which is a double core spin-on oil filter can somehow compete with WIX's basic oil filter.

What happens if the premium WIX XP synthetic oil filter is compared to the best filter variant of VIC which is the double core cellulose variant.

Does it mean it takes VIC's 2 element oil filter to compete with a WIX single element standard oil filter.
So it would mean that the premium WIX XP single core synthetic filter vs. the premium VIC double core cellulose filter is worlds apart in quality and filtration.

My brother got a honda oil filter from same seller and compared it from the one he boughy sa honda magallanes. Medyo iba ang construction ang mas malaki yung butas ng oil filter nung binili sa lazada. Hopefully orig naman.

    .
I followed the link of this one, and there's Lazada link which I also followed, and I ended up with a selection of cabin filters. There's only one brand that uses the word "genuine", while the rest are just the car's brand.

Everything else is priced at less than 700 Pesos, except for this "genuine".

Old cars didn't need one since the pollution at that time was not as worse as we have right now, just like the old cars before 1920s have no oil, fuel & air filters.

They added it to cars above 2005 because the air quality is getting worse especially in China and Southeast Asia.

In Japan mas cleaner air quality but they still replace their cabin filters. While the Philippines especially in areas where there are a lot of old vehicles running such as L300 old model, Tamarraw FX, Adventure, Crosswind, jeepneys, very old trucks & etc... are highly polluted you can even smell the diesel fumes from the air in Baguio by just walking on the streets. Hindi na same as before ang Baguio where you can smell the aroma of fresh pine trees, now you just smell the horrible diesel fumes.

Europe, North America, Taiwan, Singapore, South Korea & Japan are 1st world countries which are strict when it comes to toxic emissions and have less polluted air are replacing their cabin filters with high reputation brands and to think that comparing their air quality index with third world countries such as ours makes you wanna think of it seriously.

Had a 2002 Civic, the 1st time I learned that cars required cabin filters, and several years later pa and only by accident, because we had it cleaned and the store offered us cabin filters. I was shocked na may ganon and that Honda put filters on it. It was also then, that I learned of the phrase, "if equipped" [emoji23]

Wala rin mabilhan noon kahit sa casa

If you dont have a cabin filter just make sure the front passenger side mat is clean and free from dust that is what I always do although I have aircon filter installed.

our 2005 innova diesel didn't have aircon filter.
aircon guy had to cut a hole in the plastic housing in front of the glovebox, so we can insert a filter inside, where it sat well naman.
