Planning on getting an HID retrofit

I am still undecided, Im looking for a better night driving visibility without sacrificing safety.
Here are my current options;

Upgrade to HID/LED, keep 3M BC20 tints

1. Xenon Concept HID retrofit stage 2.5 with angel eyes - 14k.
2. Vanguard 6000k led, bulb upgrade only, with bcm specific resitor/canceller module - 8k

Change tints, keep stock lights.

1. Sunbloc Ultimate clear-blue wrap around - 6k
2. Better heat rejection than 3M - Sunbloc non-ultra wrap around - 17k
3. VKool VK40 windshield only - 7k.

Of the two major options, upgrading the headlight is the riskiest, because bcm is not cheap.
Resistors heats up during prolonged use and may break in time.

I wont suggest a wrap around for the sunbloc as today, i applied a 2nd layer on my window tints because of the heat total cost was 10k. Maybe windshield is ok.

Before, i went plug and play LED headlight bulbs and i totally wasted money, ended up using osram nightbrker series halogen bulbs for a year (thats 1500 for nightbrker unli and 2000 for nightbrker laser). Thats another 5000 pesos wasted for the led bulbs.

My lesson, go straight to what we really want and dont look for substitutes. Napalaki lang gastos ko because takot naman ako mag moist ang headlights.

Maybe you can ask other ford ranger owners(im just assuming thats your ride). I know one who retrofitted his everest, happy sya.

If visibility, mas ok ung option na tint. Wla din ang hid kng madilim ang tint.

I have a dark tint. You can hardly see a person inside pag sa labas ka. forgot what vkool i got.

I can see further after the retrofit or shall I say change of projector since naka HID projector na ang stock HL ko dati kahit naka dark tint ako.

Maling mali kasi pina Detail ko headlights ko kasi yellowish na siya before pako magpa HID
Tapos ngayon pina detail ko ayun naalog un loob

Sakit sa ulo ngayon hindi pa sumasagot un nag install..

Anong bulb gamit mo? MH1 or D2S?
If MH1 possible na galaw lang ang base nag bulb pwede mo tanggalin uli and reinstall ang bulb and make sure na tama ang position ng bulb or natanggal ang adjusting screw sa adjuster mount.
If D2S malamang na tanggal ang adjusting screw sa adjuster mount sa likod ng reflector bowl almost impossible kasi na gagalaw ang d2s bulb kung nasagi lang unlike sa mh1.
Matatanggal ang adjusting screw sa mount nya pag na sobrahan ng pihit.

I was of the same dilemma and considered relatively the same options. I tried the cheapest and got 2 pairs of XHP70 (12K Lumens, 5k kelvin) for HL and fogs (around 8k php).

I ended up installing the leds only as HL. It's significantly brighter than the stock osram bulb. Visibility is way better, using 3m heavy btw. I no longer find installing led on fogs necessary, will just use the extra pair as back up.

Will a bulb change do? Both my LC's have medium tint all around.

I used to go to GaryQ of HIDRetrofit for my needs but havent been happy with the pricing and all the leaks and niggles after a few months (jazz, trailblazer).

HID projector po ba or LED projectors ang 07 lc200? If you want higher wattage ng HID bulbs kasi then you have to change the stock ballast din. If naka LED naman palit ka pa rin ng driver. You can try lens swap muna but bubuksan pa rin ang HL sa procedure na yan.

Yung strada ko naka 25w HID projectors na which IMO is better than the stock LED projectors of the totl monty pero pinalitan ko parin lahat(projectors, ballast and bulbs) dahil di ako satisfied sa output stock HL ko.

Di po ba na rectify ni garyq yung leak sa HL nyo? Most of the shops ngayun ok naman mga installs nila. Or baka pinag igihan lang ng mga reputable shops ang services nila ngayun dahil medyo iilan na rin sila ngayon unlike before na garyq lang talaga option.

Saw the works of Firedrake ...oks naman, branded ballasts, bulbs. projectors gamit nya and based from his FB feedback oks naman daw. Paid a visit to his former shop malapit sa mazford and they are quite meticulous naman sa workmanship. I think they transfer now to a new location. As for pricing medyo mataas din ang pricing nya but yun nga due to branded materials their using, unlike other shop na mostly china products. If budget is not an issue this is a good choice.

Nagpa retrofit kame ng LC150 kay xenon concepts last jun23. So far so good. I suggest you take stage 2.5 or up if ever, and change bulbs to philips XV gen2 soon or you may ask him para dmo na kailangan galawin, add ka nalang.

Kung na tanggal kasi sa mount ang adjusting screw kahit anong pihit mo wala talagang galaw ang cut-off nyan. Minsan makikita mo medyo naka yuko na ang projector mo.

Yung philips xvc1 ko 175usd bili ko sa TRS mismo nung napunta ako ng US dun narin ako bumili ng morimoto projectors and ballasts ko sa kanila. Meron na gen2 ang philips xv ngayun I think meron sa firedrake last I checked sa FB nya.

If same lifespan ng NHK yung tanong mo compare sa philips personally di pa ako naka gamit ng nhk bulbs but as what i've read sa hidplanet forum at sa headlight junkies FB group mas maaga pumuputi yung color temp output ng nhk kesa mga osram or philips that means pag mag start na mag change or pumuti ang output after a couple of years, unti-unti na rin nawawala ang effectiveness nya. But dont confuse that color change sa brandnew bulbs like mga 4300k color temp dahil medyo yelowish yan on the first few hours na gamit mo and medyo puputi ng konti yan as the bulbs gets a break-in effect pero di ibig sabihin nun na pa sira na ang bulb mo.
7months pa lang sa akin yung xv so cant say anything about sa lifespan. Pero what I can tell you is yung philips 85122 ko sa previous vehicle ko na benta na lang until now di pa nag palit ata ng bulbs yung naka bili na vehicle ko after about 4-5yrs service ng bulbs and to think na mas cheaper na model ng philips yun if compare sa xv.
