Problem with them is come replacement time. Need to open the headlights again since the whole projector needs to be replaced. Plus they are very expensive.

Yes the base of the led bulb fits but is the focal point of the led bulb the same? For example, a projector for d2s bulbs are designed specifically for d2s and the reflector of housing is designed for a d2s focal point or source of light. You change the focal point, you change also the output. A 1mm difference from source will be magnified on the output. Kaya yan din ang reason why you cant just install kahit anong hid or led bulbs on a reflector housing that is designed for halogens. Check the pic below.

Arent white projector headlamps terrible for rainy days? Mas lalo na pag tinted yung windshield?

Well the trend is going towards led anyway, siguro it depends how well you implement the lighting.

Fortuner, montero, odyssey all with led projectors, are they all bad?

Honestly, OEM LED projector headlights from those vehicles are way better than halogens of course but if you pit it against HID projectors especially retrofitted HID projectors sobra layo parin ng difference. As in sobrang layo.

We have the latest LC200 with the OEM LED projectors and I compared its headlights with one of our best HID projectors in our lineup. Difference is at least 3 times parin in performance.

Isama mo na rin sir tots ang stock led headlights ng monty which IMO the stock 25w hid projectors of the strada will outperform it. Or maybe there is just something wrong with my eyes

Yep, spot on info. But I really wish LED manufacturers design bulbs that exactly mimics how an HID dissipates.

If you want led projectors you can get the Osram, Morimoto, Profile Performance and meron pa isa if I'm not mistaken I-led ang name. But the first 3 brands wouldnt be cheap since parang wala pa sa package ng mga retrofitter sa pinas ang mga yan as of now though may mga led projector installs na si tots ng redline.
There was a post sa headlight junkies by Sam Colt pitting the morimoto mini d2s 4.0 against a morimoto M-led. Real world output, di sila magkalayo, The led trumps the hid sa hotspot by small margin and halos di ma differentiante ng general public yun, but the hid still beats the led when it comes to width. Speaking of width, this is just the mini d2s we are talking about there are a lot of oem spec projectors that have wider beam pattern than a mini d2s.
I guess it will just be a matter of personal preference.

I had the i-Lens Bi-Beam LED projectors even before TRS released them under the Profile brand.

I also have a pair of Morimoto M-LED projectors for anyone interested.

Nag sstock ako ng few LED projectors just in case meron talagang un ang gusto. Pero overall performance, HID parin talaga.

isa sa mga disadvantages IMO sa mga led projectors nato is the cooling fans. The whole system is only as good as that cooling fan. If it shuts down or wont work for some unknown reason then you are screwed. Ang you might not know that the cooling fan is not even working anymore ang the heatsink gets so hot that it might have detrimental overheating effect on the circuit board or the led itself. If this happens masakit din sa bulsa magpalit ng buong system compare sa HID na you can just replace the bulbs, ballast, igniter or projector kung saan man sa kanila ang may sira. But if you have deep pockets then replacing the led projector assembly wont be an issue

Nagpe-peel off ung clear coat nung headlights nun ngayon eh and ung usual "sunog" part doon sa upper part ng headlight.

Thus, no need for a separate fused wiring relay.

Just read through the pages here. Still confused on which setup is better

    G5R EX
    NHK D2S Bulb
    NHK Ballast
    Stage 3 package at 15k

    VS

    G5
D2S Bulb (not sure of brand)
    HLX Ballast
    Stage 2 package 20k

Which do you think is bang for the buck?
