So I tried to do a little back reading but being a guy who knows absolutely nothing about headlights, I ended up still not knowing where to go/what to get.

Forgive me for seemingly starting the topic all over again but wanted to ask again the question just to simplify things:

a.) My current car is a Lancer EX 2009 with stock HID lights. Now my new car has plain old halogens - no tint on the windshield for both cars but I guess I got spoiled from driving with HIDs for over 8 years

b.) My budget is PHP 10-15K.

c.) What I'm looking for is really night visibility rather than a "porma" look.

d.) Since again I don't know anything about headlights (how to tinker with them, etc.) I want the job to be a "maintenance free" as possible i.e. I don't want to be going back to the shop say every couple of months to have it cleaned, etc.

Anyway, given these, what sort of set-up do you guys suggest I get? Where's the best place to get them?

Appreciate all of your answers, thanks!

Your could get a stage 1 HID retrofit from the more premium and established shops (HIDretrofit.net or Redline Auto Works), or a "stage 2" retrofit from some of the cheaper options.

yes sir morimoto lahat. Yung igniter naman kasama na sa ballast as a set. Hard plastic din yang igniter sa loob dagdag protection nga lang and aesthetics ang metal casing with xb logo.

Madali lang naman DIY lalo mga bolt on projectors if compare sa mga oem spec projectors. Ang medyo challenging lang is opening and resealing of your HL. Pinakamahirap buksan ay yung HL na gumagamit ng permaseal like most bmw's and if I'm not mistaken yung mirage permaseal din ata gamit.

Stage 1 usually uses smaller Morimoto H1 projectors with H1 HID bulbs. Since these are smaller, they can fit many H4 halogen reflector housings without having to modify the reflector bowl.

Stage 2 retrofits use D2S projectors and D2S bulbs which are what OEM setups use too. Since most D2S projectors are bigger, you really have to cut your reflector bowl.

What car do you have anyway? So that we have an idea if you have reflector (and whether it's H4 or H16) or projector headlamps.

I'm not an expert pero I'll just give some little inputs for c and d.

If you want better visibility stick to 4300k and below color temp ng bulb. Much better ang visibility nito on adverse weather condition lalo na on wet asphalt road.

If you want hassle free installation better go to reputable shops. But even reputable shops ay hindi 100% ang trabaho may human error factor din pero halos insignificant pag maayos ang installer. The good part is most of them ay may mga waranty and they'll rectify kung ano man ang installation problem free of charge. hidretrofit.net, redline autoworks, firedrake are some of shops.

Thanks for these! Yeah based on what i've read here i'll stick with the 4300k one.

Redline autoworks seems to be my best option location wise - any estimate how much it costs for a stage 1 or stage 2 package?
