kaso, d ko type yung exterior? whats up with the black thingi na prang line na nakapalibot sa bumper at sides ng car? ahaha see, i dont even know the right terms!... bsta pra xiang border na plastic black? ang cheap kasi tignan. LOL. (was that too blunt?) pero ok tlga yung interior..
The black line is unpainted plasti. It protects the vehicle from parking lot dings and dents. It's unpainted so there's nothing to get scratched.

I'm not sure about the Rio's case, but most Euro cars also have unpainted bumper tops so there's no paint to scratch in case you accidentally drag your suitcase on it. Besides being functional, it is also considered fashionable. Some people even have their cars painted that way because they desire European flair. Volvo bumpers are like that. Same case with Opels. Both are European cars, btw.

Picanto A/T is around Php510 for the DLX model which includes full wheelcovers, anti-theft system, MP3 player, and front power windows.

If you can afford the Getz, its a better value than the Kia because it has (4 power windows, rear headrests and availability of a 1.4 engine).

Aftersales service depends on the dealer. The Picanto was acquired from Wheels E.Rod but is serviced at Kia Quezon Ave (way better service). The Starex I drive was acquired from Hyundai Quezon Ave. but hasn't been there since (crappy service).

hyundai is better than kia.. (?)
Hyundai and Kia are the same company. The Getz and Picanto are virtually identical beneath the body panels. Same case with the Hyundai Tucson/Kia Sportage and new Hyundai Entourage/new Kia Carnival. Open the hood and look at the parts, they have both Kia and Hyundai logos on them.

Check with your dealer for current prices. My Picanto prices were of August 2006. Php470k for M/T, Php510k for A/T. They always have promos at the dealership so check what they have going on right now (e.g. low monthly, zero down, freebies, etc.).

Walang Spark A/T. It comes in only one variant.

All Getz units have power steering, MP3, power windows, and power locks. The Picanto DLX also has them but there is also a less expesive Picanto basic variant.

Getz is either 1.1M/T or 1.4A/T.

    RE: Rio:

It also has unpainted black plastic on top of the rear bumper. This is something more manufacturers should do, as it is less prone to scratching if you're loading stuff in the trunk (the scratched up bumper on my Lynx attests to this lack.)

The Rio's interior looks great... but the plastic is cheap to the touch. In other words... look, don't touch!

A Getz is better than the Picanto in that it has much much more space, a hydraulic clutch and more power amenities. The Picanto has a tiny trunk and a shorter rear end. The Hyundai would also have better after-sales service, but as Otep could tell you, Kia service is good if you know who to talk to... and yes, it's really cute.

Spark? Not a bad car, even though it's a Daewoo Matiz... and very cheap to maintain for a Chevrolet badge. Very cute, very cramped. Okay, I guess, if just you and a friend are riding, but not very good for barkada duty... and the trunk is even smaller than the Picanto's.

we have a getz. get the facelifted version para euro-look. it's cute bro. puwede din sa'yo yan. plus there is a special covered comparment sa back kung dadalhin mo mac or videocam or dslr mo.

btw, *charriolkid, ilang years ba yan multimedia design na yan? parang gusto kumuha ah. may pre-requisite ba? may BS degree nako sa Lasalle eh. or meron ba similar course ba na pang-graduate school nyan? yun sa RCBC daw, dun daw graduate school? I need to take kasi eh wala ako ka-id-idea dito sa business na pinasok ko.

my vote goes to the accord or the exalta. the old STA exalta still looks good after all these years. the accord also looks good. maybe a new paint na lang or something.

pwedeng-pwede naman iyan. i used to get dates all the time when i was in college w/ the suzuki fronte as my ride

as for the choices the thread starter laid out for us, i think i'll go with the accord. tried and tested ang handling maski lasing (not that i condone drinking and driving)
