Mine is Scarlet Red. Manual at yung lx lang. Wala pang dlx nun. I'm choosing between Picanto and Getz Gen 1 June last year. 415k palang and picanto nun & 419 for getz. At that time wala pa yung CRDi na getz with the face lift, Yun talaga gusto ko because of the engine and the interior but it's way out of my budget. And it's for my wife. My wife like the getz but I like the Picanto. I guess its my personal taste. Maganda kasi yung Euro and Korean version ng Picanto e & I want it to look that way. Mahirap lang maghanap ng mga accessories and replacements like the rear 60/40 seat with center head restraints and the rear wipers. You have to replace the whole thing. Wala pa kasi akong mahanap ng surplus nito. I have no problems with my Picanto. Alaga lang. Casa and non casa maitainance. Sa casa kasi may sinusunod na chart for PMS. But after that sa mga reputable shops nalang. Mas mura pa.

But the getz is a good deal also. It's your personal choice.

I don't like like pics 1 & 2. Overdone kasi. You can have the look of pic 3 but wla atang side repeater light na available dito. Hanggan sa 17" pwede sa picanto and for getz. but advisable lang hanngang 15" You don't need 17" or 18" on our local roads and for everyday use.

Anything above 15" will become a liability already. Sa stock tires pa lang ng Picanto (14"), nagagasgas na yung rims kapag nalulubak, what more sa 16" up na mas manipis pa ang sidewall ng goma.

Pareng eroplano na yung Getz dun sa attachment mo. Just like Uwak, I don't like to spoil the clean lines. There is beauty in simplicity.

Like I've said before, 15" is the perfect size. I've seen Getz's on 15's, and they look like 17's because the car is so small.

RE: Yellow color... sabi ko nga, New Yorker ako... I love taxis! Bwahahaha!

But Tango Red is really nice... wish they had the Getz in the same blue as the Accent (do they?)... it really looks nice in the sunlight.


RE: Black trim: Like OTEP said, it's very functional. Take it from me, I use my car to lug groceries, water and baby supplies almost every day, and my painted bumper top is all scratched up. An unpainted plastic bumper top will save you the trouble of repairing these scratches. The side trim will also save you potentially embarrasing and expensive "dings" in the doors from parking lot accidents.

Sigh... too bad your parents are so biased towards Kia... but then again, Hyundai service is reputed to be a little better, so the Getz is a good choice.

I personally don't like the AT on the 1.4, as it robs you of some of that city-driving pep, but it would be somewhat easier to drive. And fuel economy shouldn't be a big issue, considering it's a small car, and you won't be driving long distances anyway.

thanks. we went to mazda gh and honda magallanes yesterday...

at first my brother's heart was set to a mazda 3.. but upon looking at civics interior, mejo napapaisip na xia. hehehe. but oh well, feeling ko mazda3 pa rin kukunin nya since yun mas prefered ng gf nya LOL and mas maganda nga nman ang exterior ng mz3..

lookswise pala, ang difference lang ng V sa 2.0 mz3 is sunroof? kc parehong pareho sila? harhar.. :-)

90k ang difference ng S sa V... pag hulugan ng mom ko, 21k monthly sa S and 25K sa V.. gusto nya yung V kasi safe, pero nanghihinayang xia sa 4k difference? LOLS.. sa inyo po, malaki na po ba ang difference na 4k?

3 yrs kasi yung terms.. ayaw ng mom ko more than 3 yrs kasi lugi na daw xia pag mas mahaba..

mejo ok ang offer ng mz gh.. 60k discount, free lto registration for 3 yrs and chattel ata kasama na rin. pati the standard freebies na tint, mats and yung color black na nakadikit sa mga windows na salamin LOLOLOL

nga pla, ang sarap sakyan ng mz3.. my kuya test drove it.. smooth xia and parang arcade ang transmission.. hahaha. :-)


OT: the car will serve as my mom's gift to kuya... 4th yr na kc xia sa ateneo law.. nagtataka ako bakit si kuya may brand new na car, at mz3 pa, tas yung sister ko who just graduated from med school last 2 yrs ago and now a resident surgeon sa Jose Reyes, luma na car ang binili sa knya..

hmm... guys, may favoritism ba talaga?? kc sister ko yung panganay... ako bunso... dba dpat ang middle child lagi kawawa? LOLOLOL

The Civic ain't a bad choice, and it'll definitely be more fuel efficient... but the 1.6 Mazda3 is a very nice car, despite being older, and despite not being as quick (which I think isn't part of your kuya's requirements), I like it better.

4k per month is kinda big, but considering it's 20+ a month anyway, she might as well pay up. Better a little safer than sorry.

Favoritism? Iba talaga sa firstborn son, even if your sister is the true "panganay". Some parents are kinda old-fashioned that way, I guess. I'd wager that your ma is part Chinese? My family is like that, but I don't like that kind of attitude... I definitely intend to spoil the hell out of my daughter... even if our second kid is a boy.

Red is actually supposedly more accident prone, but I don't believe it... I have tons of dents on all my vehicles (red, white and black... stupid family/company drivers!). Kaya okay nalang kahit anong kunin ng kuya mo. But black shows scratches more easily... I've had a few red cars and a few black cars, when you scrape red to the primer, you don't notice it from a distance, when you get scratches on a black car, halatang halata.

Regarding performance, it's true that the Mazda3 is a somewhat better track car than the Civic, more feelsome steering (mas feel? ), stiffer suspension and a great rear suspension design, but I believe both are capable cars. But in terms of power, overtaking in the Mazda3 1.6 sometimes takes tactical planning (pick your spot for overtaking before giving it some gas).

Despite the lack of power, it really is a fun car to drive and ride in.

OT ulit: ganyan talaga... iba ang trato ng pamilya sa "kuya" kaysa sa "ate" (I've seen it in my wife's family as well as mine). Hehe... don't envy my daughter yet... almost one year old siya at di pa tapos yung bahay namin... she's had four different houses in the past few months...

Hindi mo naman gagamitin sa track or ipangkakarera yung Civic or MZ3 (whichever you decide) so just ignore the agents' trash talk. Parang psyche out lang iyan sa WWF (or whatever you call the wrestling federations nowadays).

Pareho namang umaandar iyan and parehong makakarating sa pupuntahan. Focus on other details na lang. No need to be the fastest.

Are you talking about underbody neon? It has no effect on vehicle safety.

Is your brother gonna race? Both Mazda 3 & Honda Civic is Ok. Black, White or Silver. You don't need those neon light? Para ka naman moving Ads. Draws too much attention.

personally, from my experience I endured two long years driving two alternating cars that are too long. a mini-van and a pickup. hated it so much.

i'd pick the civic over the mazda3. if the 5-door naman, ok lang kaya lang mahal eh, halos sing presyo na ng civic. konti lang laki nito sa getz.

kung karera din lang Philippine road setting with a lot tight corners, di mananalo mz3 4-door sa civic 4-door.

Some jurisdictions in the U.S. even outlaw the use of such devices.
