Guys, I bought Microtex shampoo, Nanoglos, and Nanosliq.
After washing, Apply Nanoglos then buff. After 8 hours, apply Nanosliq then buff? Thanks!

Even now that the Duragloss epoxy sealant is alive (from the previous EB), I'm here wishing that it wear out "faster" so I can try a WG Sealant next. Then again, I'd have to hold the WG since my next detailing session would really involve a polish na.. I'm getting irked with the swirls here and there so I'll go Meg's M83 or Optimum Polish + KAIO and double layer KSG next time round.
Can't really say. It was what was on my hood and roof during the last EB - newly applied at that time. Then, the accident happened a week later, so the car's been sitting on the garage since.

I'm pretty certain that Turtle Wax Ice spray wax doesn't have abrasives - never heard of a spray wax with abrasives yet The TW product that you read about is the TW Hard Shell - it isn't advertised as having abrasives, but actually does.

I've been reading this thread for quite sometime, all the tips mentioned here on how to maintain the car's paint has been very helpful to me. For the past few months, I've been using mothers shampoo, step 2 & 3 for my detailing and maintaining it weekly using mothers fx spray wax.

Right now, paubos na yung step 2 ko (i bought it 2 months before i bought step 3 kaya sya yung naubos kagad), so i would like to know what are good alternatives for step 2.

Although I'm satisfied with the result of step 2 & step 3 combo, i am still open to other wax system.
I have a nanogloss in the house (got it from our club), would that suffice as mother's step2 replacement?
If not, since i would be buying another car wax, which wax is suitable for dark colored paint (pewter metallic gray)?
Yes, you can use NanoGlos in place of Mothers step 2 - the main difference you'll need to consider is that NanoGlos requires at least a four (preferably eight) hour curing time before topping with another product.

Eight hours curing is correct. NanoSliq application is spray on panel, spread with an MF towel, then flip the towel for a final buff. If you're having issues with streaking, you can dilute NanoSliq up to 50% with (distilled) water, or try spraying on the towel instead of on the paint.

I can use wax applicator pad (the yellow ones) for NanoGlos. Wait for 8 hours, then for NanoSliq, ill spread it on the MF towel then flip to buff? Is it right? Sorry im a newbie in detailing. Thanks!

Thanks umi001! Would that be harder to buff, leaving nanoglos cure for 4-8 hrs? Based on my experience from Mothers, i just left it for 5 mins (per panel waxing), then immediately buff afterwards. I also tried to left it for 30 mins but it was harder to buff.

the key is to apply a thin coat.

Most probably makapal yung wax, kaya nahihirapan ako mag buff pag tumagal na masyado yung wax. Hirap ako i distribute yung wax (by hand and pad) ng same amount, so kung anong unang area yung nalagyan ng wax, siguradong yun yung may makapal na wax. Although what i do know is from the pad, i damp the wax (like big dots) on the panel i'm working on.

Curing is different from drying You apply NanoGlos, buff off once dry (use the swipe test), then wait for 8 hours (curing time) before applying anything else on top of it. And I agree with Ginnova - it's all about applying a thin coat. I've read about a lot of people having issues with the Collinites, for example, but I've found them all pretty easy to apply and remove - you just need to learn how to apply really, really thinly.

Curing time and buffing time is different. What umi said is that you put the nanoglos, buff it, and let it stand by for around 4-8 hours in order for it to completely cure before layering it with another LSP of your choice such as Collinite 845s.

Also, you don't really need to leave the Nanoglos for 30mins before buffing it. Just apply and buff per panel is enough. In fact, I'd hate to leave it at 30minutes since dust would start to accumulate na.

EDIT: LOL, may page 160 na pala... I didn't refresh the page before posting :P

What do you mean by "improve"? A topper like Mothers Reflections would help (like increasing reflectivity, achieving that mirror look on black, etc.) but I'm not sure what "improvement" we're looking for here.

Sir jhnkvn, as of the moment sir I'm satisfied with the way it looks. If i layer the NXT with mothers reflection spray wax will it accumulate less dust? Sorry for not making it clear the first time.

Thanks umi001 & jhnkvn for the clarification, i stand corrected .

Btw, right now the remaining wax that i have are step 3, nanogloss, fx spray wax (paubos narin) & optimum instant detailer, is it ok to use step 3 (that is after the curing time of nanogloss)?

Gusto ko naring ubusin yung nanogloss (w/c i only got from our club) & step 3 (bought months ago), so i could try different wax systems (e.g. optimum, collinite etc).

    TIA!

What sort of improvement are you looking for, with regards to looks? More gloss and reflectiveness? A deeper look? With regards to dust accumulation, things usually improve after the first wash (the act of wiping of wax/sealant residue can induce a static charge to the paint), and you can also use some QDs that have anti-static properties (such as FK 425, CG P40, etc), but aside from that, dust is really something you just have to live with, particularly with our environment.

Yes, perfectly fine to use them together - in fact, they all slot together pretty nicely. Lay down the NanoGloss as a base, let cure for four to eight hours, then apply the (Mothers?) step 3 wax. Then, maintain during your weekly wash with either the FX Spray Wax or OID (perhaps use them alternately).

I forgot to mention, i'm referring to mother's step 3 on the statement above. Thanks again!
