Uy hindi naman - meron ko lang na Megs is ultimate compound, SwirlX, professional detailing clay and ultimate quik wax (na parating pa lang) - need to get some of their APC+...

Sir, what's an ONR, and where can I obtain it? Sorry for the noob question.
Haayy.. Just as I thought (feared), cleaner wax na talaga ang solution. Good idea ba 'to?

ONR is Optimum No Rinse sir. I'm very curious about this product as this will definitely cut cleaning time. I plan to get this after I use up my Microtex car shampoo.
Well if it irritates you just seeing them on your black finish, I suggest you do cleaner wax already, hehe. But that's just me.![]()
Been using ONR for 2 months na, and all I can say is two thumbs up! I can clean my SUV's exterior in around half an hour and the ONR gives a slick finish after every washing. I only use 1 bucket for every ONR cleaning session, plus I bought a pressurized sprayer for when the car has some tough grime that needs to be loosened. Swirl marks are kept at a minimum, plus di pa ko ganun ka pagaod after every cleaning. Since cleaning time is cut down, this gives me more time to include Mom's spray on wax to further preserve the shine of my triple coated Klasse sealant and Collinite 845. I use a 2 oz mix per 2 gallons of water for the ONR. ONR is perfect for people who have little time to clean their cars but are OC enough to not let car washes touch their cars.
ONR is complimented well by Microtex wash mitt and the Microtex Elite drying towel.
ONR is Optimum No Rinse - you can get it from Ravi (the distributor - he posted a thread here a few months back, try and do a search for Optimum) or sir Ed at pinoydetailing.
Ah, ganun pala - looks like I got some incorrect information. Yep, unfortunately no choice but to hit it with a cleaner to remove the watermark. Now, whether to do it now or later is up to you - personally I would remove the watermarks as soon as I see it, but that's because I have a number of durable LSPs which I can apply afterwards.
915! 915!Haven't used the Elevo watermark remover yet - so far ok pa naman yung condition nung windshield, applied some Rain Clear a few months back. No idea if it's still there dahil hindi na naulanan yung kotse ng ilang buwan, haha.

*cjv_justice: regarding jelly blades... unless you can guarantee a dust free environment, avoid using these things. This was demonstrated to us at the last detailing session - konting dust lang guaranteed fine scratches sa clearcoat nyo.
regarding cleaner waxes and prewax cleaners: they're essentially the same thing, just different in the aspect that cleaner waxes leave a layer of protection. both products can be abrasive or non-abrasive... just check if it's "clear coat safe" to know if it's non-abrasive.
*loverlionus: regarding dusters: that P40 duster is guaranteed to scratch your clearcoat. Nadale dyan ang mazda2 namin - scratched it through KAIO/KSG and nanoglos+nanosliq. The 500 peso duster is worth it.
btw, avoid washing the car if the hood is still hot, especially if your vehicle doesn't come with a heat shield
*tradewind26: you can actually layer nanoglos or any other wax (or your choice of wax+booster, i.e. nanoglos+nanosliq) over the carlack sealant that BB uses for even more protection than just a booster
Unless you're planning to prep the surface for sealing or waxing... avoid using anything that has "cleaner wax" on it. that'll strip the sealant right off your paint
*rj_tim: regarding watermarks: try using a non-abrasive cleaner wax first. I'd recommend AIO. if this doesn't work, try claying the surface. if this still doesn't work, a fine polish (i.e. swirlX) can do the job.
*looks2008: I wouldn't advise layering 476 and 915. Since both products contain oils, the one on top will suffer regarding durability. If you want a truly epic shine, try using a glaze (i.e. mom's step2 or nanoglos) then layer 915 over it. 915's durability is still much, much better than most of the OTC waxes we have over here.
regarding washmitts: to try and bring back the tenderness of you washmitt... try washing it with joy and hot water... then soak it in perla for 15-30 minutes... then airdry (avoid direct sunlight - this hardens MFs and washmitts)
*meloforma: avoid using KAIO as a standalone product... it's great as a cleaner, but it doesn't stand a chance against the weather without KSG. Pre-wax cleaners and cleaner waxes will strip everything off the clearcoat. If it's abrasive, it's going to strip some of the clearcoat as well.
A couple of things...
The last layer of 476 that I put on our mazda2 was from last february... it's still alive after an uncounted number of washes. it really lasts quite a long time, given the proper boosters (heavy nanosliq user here. hehe)
Our mazda2 is due for it's 3-step detail with BB this weekend... planning to do a double layer of KSG after that, then 476... Been itching to try mom's reflections, but at the moment I'm taking full advantage of OGE's super-shine and dust-repellant properties.
Nanoglos seems to last longer given the summer heat. The nanoglos on our ranger already survived 2 washes, and it's still beading after the odd rainshower earlier. I wonder if it's still going to hold its own after another wash...
anyway, enjoy the summer, detailers! it's a perfect time to enjoy the fruits of our detailing efforts![]()
Yes ayun o nagbalik ka doc!
thanks for the advice on the jelly blade. anyway nakakuha nako ng Elite.
Still KAIO alone is much better than OTC waxes.*meloforma: avoid using KAIO as a standalone product... it's great as a cleaner, but it doesn't stand a chance against the weather without KSG. Pre-wax cleaners and cleaner waxes will strip everything off the clearcoat. If it's abrasive, it's going to strip some of the clearcoat as well.
*cjv_justice: sulit yang elite na yan! I can dry a car and a pickup with one of those, walang piga piga!
*jmpet626: yes, but exponential yung increase in durability kung sinamahan mo ng KSG.. so might as well follow it up with KSG. same is true with standalone KSG - durability wise, there's nothing to write home about, but with KAIO, ayon! kunat!
