well actually OPEN SOURCE sana ang gusto ko dito sa sports vehicle project natin na ito - everybody participate and put input as needed - no secrets and no apprehensions about "loss sales opportunity".

I have reasons to think that the big boys will not bother us much here because the marketability and market share of a "budget" sports car is really small. Kasi kung talagang merun market yan dito sa Pinas, matagal na nilang ipinasok ang mga counter parts of the Miata like the Brabus-modified Smart car or even the Kei sport cars of Japan (have you seen the one used by the competitor of Takumi in the last few episode of Initial D anime?).

If ever dumating ang time na yun....I am sure that with Tsikoteers' creative minds will still be able to produce a more marketable and profitable version of the TSV.

I don't have a CNC (yet - but i do plan to "make one" someday... ang dami ko ng naitabing info how to go about it - stepper motor and basic programming lang ang katapat nito). You can keep the 3D file for possible reference in the future.

As I see it, we will still need to modify the base drawings that you have when we execute the proto-type.

Let us all do this as a fun-filled activity para masaya and educational.

If i were to dream to the "next" step - the go-cart size proto-type can sit a real passenger/s and will have the feel of the real size TSV in a scaled down version.

Best of that is that I'd be more than willing to "share" this - perhaps we can display it in next year's autoshow - TSV for the tsikot's booth. If one would want to drive it...it would be free - we can play with it sa parking lot or perhaps sa Speedzone or similar venue. These all look fun to me.

Then step 3 - real proto-type 1:1 scale, this is one more step that would need more thinking - on the mechanical parts and stuff. I don't want to excite myself yet ... pero I am sure this is doable - and I am looking at a less than P200k budget sana .... do i have budget to spare - maybe...baka umulan ng pera eh....hehehe

putcha lang ang inaalala ko baka maover excite at mapabili ng branded suspensions like TEIN....hehehehe... (i starting to get excited!)

    Hi guys.
Maaring suntok sa buwan ito, but maybe you can also consider using ELECTRIC BIKE HUB MOTORS for a variant of the TSV.
This was first suggested in the Tsikot PhUV thread by orly_andico (post #448).
    No harm reading that post.
To be honest, I have a very strong feeling we should be looking towards moving from combustion systems to EVs. The technology is already there, and racing is actually the forefront of R&D. I am envisioning the first OPV electric sportscar race.

Why not skip this go-cart prototype stage and put the mechanicals into an existing car body like this:
    http://www.kitcarmag.com/featuredveh...cooper_hybrid/

This way you can test the engine, transmission, suspension, etc. on the streets. And after you've finished with this mid-engined Mini, sell it (at a profit). I'm sure there will be buyers. I imagine myself behind the wheel of this monster and surprising the drivers of bigger cars.

magandang option yun jumping into 1:1 scale kaso mas mahal ang cost.

yung go cart version (that could fit an adult or 2 kids perhaps) ay mas feasible sa akin kasi smaller yun sa possible gastos - I have an engine (honda na 5 or 6 speed yata - courtesy of my motorbike since my college days - it is actually 23year old model honda) and a go cart chasis with rear axle and steering mechanisms (courtesy of a friend who gave me one of his go carts - he have a go cart rental biz in Tarlac).

so yung scaledown version can probably cost me cheaper to build.

Wildthing... whatever drive you feel... just do it. who knows, merong sumali and mag sponsor ng cost later. Anyway, making a go cart size would be a great idea.

here's another idea of a pInoy sports car... still a work in progress... ito medyo mahirap sa cardboard pero, ok sa PU foam or Clay model muna... before moulding.... I am still playing with the shape though but the basic idea or concept medyo lumilitaw na... can be placed on top of an owner type chassis platform siguro... or a donor celica.

    Sir Ehnriko,

Re I-wheel measurements query: Kung tama ang conversion ko sa RIM ng gulong mo na 611.19 mm = 24 inch diameter Rims eto!

That is a nice gulong kaso I think it would be a bit impractical to acquire (mahal masyado and mabigat if the engine is between a 1L to 2L engine).

On the scale model thing, my available wheel (common for tamiya) is equivalent to a 16.5 inch rim with a low profile tire (parang 4 inch profile) na wide.

Base on your original measurements, the 1:10 scale will have the dimensions of 14.78" nose-to-rear measurement, width of 7.53" and a height of 4.32". It is kinda "big".

Halos equivalent siya sa regular sedan (like a nissan silvia) on a 1:10 scale.

Ok yang parang Alberta project na yan Wildthing and Dprox!! Baka you can ask the help of a technical school like Don Bosco. Or Jpdm can help with De La Salle Dasma! It can be a project for them!

I can try to help with sponsors

Just reduce the scale of the wheel Arches... to conform with the choice of rims... you can also offset it by using larger diameter tires... I know some big bike wheels are bigger... check it out. I think they have 22 inch.

hehehe, thanks for the clarification...i forgot the bigbike wheels are not that wide and are light and would be a good candidate.

I asked around re the Conge cars from the guys who knew the builder and helped on a few things.
He no longer has contact but he's fairly familiar with the designs, back then nothing was documented and everything was in their heads.

that's the impression I had with them... Binky Victa never really bothered documenting it... he made a few... mid engined with Celeste Doors... VW Trannys 2TG engines... and some Rally Cars for Pocholo Ramirez.

I almost traded my Lamborghini Replica with one of the Rally model examples before... but I declined - kasi I thought it was one of the Mid-engined fiberglass cars.

These conge cars are examples of a Platform based technology Kit-Cars... I hope someone would be kind enough to share the surviving models photos here. This is a special interest car...

Ehnriko has proposed two layouts for the Tsikot sport vehicle:
    1) MR (mid-engine, rear-wheel drive)
    2) FR (front-engine, rear-wheel drive)

When Mazda was developing the Miata, they also looked into these layouts plus FF (front-engine, front-wheel drive). They made full size mock-ups for each layout. We all know that they chose the FR layout.

If Tsikot were to choose FR, a good engine and drivetrain will be the Miata's because of its independent rear suspension. But the idea of cutting up a good Miata for parts (even if done overseas for exporting here) is too painful to contemplate.

The advantages of a FR layout are:
    1) More luggage space
    2) Possibility of offering different body styles in addition to Ehnriko's concept. One example is a sporty owner type jeep body. Another is a Lotus 7 type body.
    3) Can have a hard retractable roof. This is not possible with MR layouts because of the space requirement for hard retractable roofs.
    4) More precise feel of transmission shifter (because of direct action).

The advantages of a MR layout:
    1) Sloping front end much nicer aesthetically.
    2) Handling
    3) Shorter overall length
    4) Sourcing of engines easier (using engines from FF sedans)

Hi tech masters! any updates on this very interesting thread?
I'm a composites fabricator and could assist in your projects. I do Carbon fiber accessories as well as other fiber reinforced plastics. FYI
