i just had mine installed... pero wala pang harapan. heavy black na solargard yung mga bintana. wala pang nakalagay sa windshield. i think medium black na din ipalagay ko. maliwanag nga ang solargard compared sa ibang brands na dark din and pag sa labas itim na itim talaga sya. pag heavy black din ilagay ko sa windshield suicide na no? hehehe.

nalilito ako if solar gard or 3M gagamitin ko?

question bawal ba ang naka heavy black sa lahat ng windows and windshield?

if mag pa heavy black ako sa harap at likod ng windshield may makita pa kaya ako pagka gabi? lalo na pag umuulan?

I waited 5 hours to get my car tinted, apparently by the younger guy who isn't as experienced. I didn't get to check the work properly after it's done because it was 8pm already, and the lights in the vicinity weren't so good.
The next day I checked, daming bubbles and even one "butas" near the rear view mirror front panel. I was busy and only managed to go back after around three weeks to have it checked.
The owner was quite arrogant and asked if I read the instruction they gave not to move the windows for a certain period of time, as if I'm an idiot who got his car tinted for the first time in my life. He told me to come back after a week to have it checked, because he thinks the bubbles will dissapear by then.
After almost two months, the bubbles are still as many as it was that day. I didn't bother to go back, partly because of the owner's arrogance, and also not wanting to waste so much time to get it redone if ever.
I went to that store because of this thread, unfortunately this is also where I would vent out my disappointment.
I would never go back to that shop and would not recommend it to anybody.

Sad to say I'm not satisfied with the service of LA Car Accessories. I’ve returned my vehicle (brand new Mitsubishi Adventure) twice in there shop because of bubbles and minor scratches in their solar guard tints. In case you’re going to have your tint installed in their shop, my advice is to check the tint that they will install in your car because they claim that bubbles and “small” scratches in the tint is “normal” but in their ads in the newspapers they claim that its pollution and “bubble free”. By the way, the price of their tint is more expensive compared to other shops.

    F.y.i.

The duration of tinting a car depends on:

    1. Old tint - if the tint in your car has been over 3 years, turned purple, and poor quality, this will take time to remove as we try to save the defogger as much as possible. We do not suggest rushing this part of the procedure as it requires skill and effort to remove the adhesive and clean up the glass well. If your car comes with faded tint, there is a 50/50 % chance in saving the defogger which will be determined by our tinters upon diagnosing the tint. An average sedan takes 1.5 - 2 hours to tint. Does not include waiting time and is done on a first come, first serve basis. Due to the number of cars tinted daily in our tint room, we suggest to make an appointment to ensure less waiting or no waiting time at all.

Bubbles / Water marks / Splice Lines

    2. If you pick Vkool, Solargard and 3M Crystalline tints, the curing period is 3-4 weeks due to the multi layered technology. Water bubbles will appear after installation which will evaporate under the sun, gradually. This is actually another way of determining if your tint is of high quality, as the film is thick and comes with high heat rejection.

    3. On every tint application / transaction, customers are given a sheet with special instructions such as, don’t roll down the windows for 48 hours, don’t wipe etc. and also important information regarding water bubbles, hazy look and splice lines which will disappear in time. Not only do we render the instructions, our tinters and staff explain to the customer about these characteristics so to avoid the inconvenience of them coming back immediately when the curing period hasn’t passed its time.

    4. All tints we sell come with warranties and are replaced if ever there is a defect or if marks appear after the curing period is over. We will not replace the tint for water marks before the drying period as it clearly states on the instructions that, it will disappear. Water marks ( which gives the hazy appearance ) normally appear on the front windshield when there are no cuts. Water bubbles on the corners are still able to be taken care of upto a month after the curing period. There is a big difference between water marks and bubbles which look similar.

    5. If the water marks and bubbles still remain on the tint after the curing period, it is a s.o.p. for our store to replace the tint without any question.

Also, regarding pricing, Solargard does cost more than other brands hence we offer different choices to the customer to decide. There are only few Solargard dealers in Philippines, other stores will state that they have Solargard, but when asked for a signage, brochure, etc, they show Sungard and make it look like its the same company when its clearly not.

Sungard is way cheaper than Solargard, which costs a little more than 3M. Solargard also does take longer to dry due to the thickness of the film as compared to other brands.

Hi guys, I have a question: is there a sure-fire way to ensure that the rear window defogger won't be damaged whenever the tint is removed?

Years ago, I had the tint on my previous car changed and at that time, I didn't even think about the possibility of the defogger getting damaged. After the tint was changed (I got Solargard from a shop in Cubao), I went home happy since it looked really nice. But as the days passed, I discovered that a majority of the heating elements of my defogger no longer worked. I concluded that it was probably damaged when my old tint was removed/scraped off.

What's the best car tint brand and color?
