Under the law, it's illegal to put heavy tints on the front windshield. Best to scale it back to something like BC20 so you wouldn't worry about extra strict cops harassing you. Personally, I use a BC35 for the front and BC20 on the sides. 3M's Black Chrome series really does magic on its heat rejection. If you're looking for privacy, you're better off using Color Stable (CS) for its "magic fog" whenever people peek inside your car. Sa BC kasi parang mirror lang siya sa labas, but you can easily sneak a peak of the contents in the car.

Can't say din kung maganda. Since the normal methods is: (1) Same tint all throughout or (2) Light back and front, heavy sides. For pogi purposes, it's better to have the same tint applied throughout the car to have that uniform tint. #2 is more practical though.

I highly do not recommend having 10% light transmission unless ikaw yun passenger and you have a driver. It's damn hard to drive at night. Also remember that tints is the #1 factor in mimizing light output on the streets. At BC10, you definitely need a HID to compensate for the decline of light output at nighttime driving.

Try mo sloar guard or llumar. Mas mura llumar. Solar Gurad nakakabit sa windshield ng Honda City ko, LLumar naman sa Avanza ko. Llumar cost 4000 for the Avanza, Solar Gurad quote 6000 yata for the Avanza. So Llumar ako mas mura ng isang full tank.

sa type ng tint - transparent, black,grey/charcoal, mirror effect. it's your choice.

pwede din yung ginawa ng iba, mirror effect tint sa 1st layer then pinatungan ng 2nd layer black tint.

i've read several pages in this thread. medyo nahilo na ako looking for specific answers, so i'll just post my question --which kinds of tint would you recommend given the ff:
    1. considerations: i want car passengers to be invisible from the outside for security reasons. i also want good visibility from the inside, esp. when parking at night.
    2. free tints offered by the dealer: 3M FX 5 (super black), 20 (medium black), and 35 (light?); Platinum dark? and medium? (the "?" are because i'm not sure about the specific names of the tints)
    3. car is a red city.

i'm leaning towards 3M medium black for the sides and rear, and light for the windshield. this would give me good visibility from the inside but my concern is that the car passengers and driver might be visible from the outside? what say you? is the 3M light okay for the front or should i install those magic neutral tints so that i won't be as visible from the outside?

i'm open to having a second tint installed over the free tint i'll avail from the dealer. but then again, if i can not spend to get what i want, all the better.

i'll really appreciate your inputs. thanks!

there's always a tradeoff between visibility from inside (driving concern) and from outside (security/privacy concern)..

yung 3M Medium Black, ok visibility from inside, i.e. you won't have difficulty driving and parking
kaso kita passengers from the outside

Suggest ko go with Platinum. FX is the lowest variant of 3M if I'm not mistaken. Had that in my car and the super dark is really dark to the point I have trouble seeing my side mirrors at night. Note no windshield tint. It bubbled after four years. Free from casa so ok na. Replaced it with Platinum, med on windshield and dark for windows. Better visibility at night, better heat rejection and still dark so passengers are not visible from the outside.

Another thing I dont like with 3M is there are a lot of fakes out there.

What's the best car tint brand and color?
