wala bang radar detectors diyan mga pre? Palagi akong sinisave ng radar ko sa mga speed traps saka sa mga highway patrols...one time nahuli ako sa US nagspeed ng 30 kph over the limit $250 ang multa after that bumili ako ng radar and hindi ko na mabilangkung ilang beses ako sinave ng radar. There was a time na may kasabay ako sa freeway na pareho kaming nagtrattavel to the max speed limit tapos may patrol na nagtail samin...nagwala yung radar ko so lam ko na may laser detector somewhere tingin ako sa rear mirror saka ko nakita yung mobil sa likod...di ko ease up yung gas kasi lam ko nasa max speed limit naman me pero yung katabi ko umarangkada so siya yung hinuli after a few seconds.

January 17th, 2011 09:22 PM #595unfortunately, i was one of the speeders that was caught at NLEX Dau Toll Plaza (northbound), last Saturday, January 15, 2011 with a speed of 131kph! take note that i have a radar/laser detector installed on my windshield, it didn't alarm...
i was shocked when an officer apprehended me, nasa left most na nga ako para diretso sa EC Tag lane, kaya lang humarang talaga yung officer, kawawa naman kung mahagip ko... kaya nagpahuli nalang ako! hahaha!
tsambahan lang talaga, actually this was my 2nd time to be caught... the 1st one was last October 2008 at SCTEX Subic Toll Plaza * 172kph, i've even went to LTO San Fernando, Pampanga (at the back of the Provincial Capitol) where the officer surrendered my license (not in LTO East Avenue if your going to be caught at SCTEX... it maybe LTO Pampanga's area of jurisdiction), to pay the fine, be scolded (seminar?) by an LTO officer (but no examination or anything) and claim my license 3 days after the apprehension...
FYI, to those who are caught in Dau, you'll going to claim your license at LTO East Avenue... you'll get a seminar, exam, etc... OR go directly at Law Enforcement Section and pay P2.5Kfor representation, and everything will be ok!

January 18th, 2011 05:15 PM #597uhm, i'm using a cheap Cobra detector worth US$130 (IRAD100 - the one that you need to pair on an iPhone) it was given to me as a gift, sayang naman if i'm not going to use it...
but after last Saturday's incident, i'm thinking of buying a new radar detector (like your Valentine One, or Escort's 9500ix & Passport IQ, or Beltronics' GX65) any suggestions?

You can check out the reviews on the radar detectors. Just google them up. I did that before I settled on the Valentine One as the best choice for me.
I am sure there have been improvements in the other brands/models by now.

Kindly note: my V1 costs US$500 without shipping.Last edited by ghosthunter; January 18th, 2011 at 05:43 PM.

BTW, I googled the IRAD100 and noticed the actual detector unit is a slim device. Did you place this high or low on your windshield? Its because placement does play a role in detection and how far it will detect a radar/laser signal.
