according to a source, random na daw ang mga radar nila sa nlex. unlike dati nasa taas sila ng mga overpass.

my bro last week went home to pampanga and goin back to manila he noticed na lahat ng umovertake sa kanya, huli lahat sa toll gate hehehe pero wala patrol na nakita.

and may part na 80 kph lang dapat takbo, kapag daw mga nag 100 kph ka huli padin daw

nahuli na ako sa nlex i think 2 years ago. vios dala ko and we were travelling 150kph hehe kamot nalang ako ng ulo.

yun lang badtrip, sa east ave pa tubos. sana ticket nalang where you can pay thru bank

I was on my way home last night on a bus when I saw the NLEX radar van speeding. It was not actually the first time that I saw the NLEX Radar Van doing something like 110km/h at least to 120km/h. It is a white Toyota Innova with a pair of radio antennae, one mounted on the right front fender and the other mounted on top of the roof. The other radar tracker is a Toyota Hilux with the same characteristics.

As far as I know, anyone caught doing more than 100km/h southbound will be pulled over at the Bocaue toll barrier. Is this the same for NLEX crews' vehicles?

Isn't that ironic? The people who track speeding vehicles for a living do not follow the rules that they enforce! And if NLEX takes pride in claiming that their jurisdiction is a "Traffic Discipline Zone", how come that their own service vehicles (including shuttle bus Coasters, patrol Hiluxes, BMW K1200R Motorrads, et al) do speeds in excess of 100km/h which is the top speed they set and work (and even spend) so hard to enforce?

They should not attempt to shout out that they own a "Traffic Discipline Zone" if the NLEX crews themselves do not follow their own rules. It is unfair to the part of those who follow the rules and even for those who pay the price of not following it.

ps I did not have enough time to pull out my phone and take a picture because the car was too fast. Next time, I'll take a picture if I ever catch the radar trackers speeding.

yeah,+1 to this! provided they are not in an emergency call to respond to something.

I'm ok with their rule for safety, but if we just could increase the limit a little bit like 120km/hr. I think that speed is still acceptable.

Maybe they are scouting for violators. I often used NLEX and had a good experience with them being fair. I noticed them giving warning siren if you are over speeding and catch you if you ignore them. However, if they are over speeding, they have to clean their act.

wala naman nanghuhuli pagkagabi ah... they are often "catching" overspeeding vehicle around 8-5pm lang and when not raining hard.

BTW how would know that they were overspeeding? ... occular speed is very subjective... unless you were running 120kph+ and they still passed by you...

for me di bagay implement mga laws na yan, no 1 na dahilan, "pasaway" drivers ang mga pinoy. left lane for overtaking only? naku, kahit 80kph nasa left lane eh.i make use of all d lanes, it takes a lot of time 2 wait for a "pasaway" driver to give way for you to overtake than 2 just simply swerve on d other lane, make sure lng na front and back is clear of any NLEX patrol unit. eh kung mgbrake k p additional fuel consumption p yun since you have to accelerate again to gain speed, haha! no. 2, majority satin mga speed freaks, 100kph? nakaka-antok yun amp!!! no. 3, e2 na nga at ang laki ng binabayad mo sa tollgate ng NLEX tapos huhulihin k p? for your safety daw? eh ang laki nman ng toll fee, kayang kaya nila gumastos kahit everyday may major or minor accident, yung mga patrol 2loy nghahanap na lng ng huhulihin kaysa dati na mg assist lng (gusto ng meryenda d b?) btw, ayaw nila ng 300 or 400, 500 p tlga gusto! no. 4, d road is widened to lessen traffic, nahalata ko kac, simula na maging traffic discipline zone yan, 2-3 lanes lng sa left ginagamit, para bang nag-aalangan gamitin yung ibang lanes, sayang nman yung ibang lanes, ngkukumpulan sa isang side. haha opinion ko lng

We've tried several times to negotiate with patrol units with our trucking services (dati, biglang gulat kasi mga suki nun nang biglaang umonti karga naman), but none gave in. Gano po katotoo chief itong statement nyo? For all I know, napakadisiplinado ng mga patrol units ng NLEX. "Areglo" seems like an alien word for them. Proven and tested, we never met one that let our truck drivers pass without taking a violation ticket before. Kaya nga ngayon kahit onti karga sumusunod na talaga.

-but if we don't do anything, things would just degrade to sheer chaos. better start now with change for the better than never.

-spoken like your handle. ugh. i hope you don't endanger innocent motorists along the way. i'd hate to get caught up in your escapades.

eh kung mgbrake k p additional fuel consumption p yun since you have to accelerate again to gain speed, haha! no. 2, majority satin mga speed freaks, 100kph? nakaka-antok yun amp!!!
-but going higher than 100 has been proven to increase risks exponentially. besides, 80kph would be the most economical speed. and that's why you anticipate the actions of everyone around you.

no. 3, e2 na nga at ang laki ng binabayad mo sa tollgate ng NLEX tapos huhulihin k p?
-if you violated a rule dun, then expect to be apprehended. as simple as that. kaya di umaasenso 'pinas eh kasi basta lusot kahit mali, sige lang.

    for your safety daw?
-di lang DAW. FOR YOUR SAFETY...AND EVERYONE ELSE'S. period.

eh ang laki nman ng toll fee, kayang kaya nila gumastos kahit everyday may major or minor accident, yung mga patrol 2loy nghahanap na lng ng huhulihin kaysa dati na mg assist lng (gusto ng meryenda d b?) btw, ayaw nila ng 300 or 400, 500 p tlga gusto!
-like what was posted above, areglo is a foreign word for them. they follow the rules and regulations. and they make sure that the people using it would do so too.

no. 4, d road is widened to lessen traffic, nahalata ko kac, simula na maging traffic discipline zone yan, 2-3 lanes lng sa left ginagamit, para bang nag-aalangan gamitin yung ibang lanes, sayang nman yung ibang lanes, ngkukumpulan sa isang side. haha opinion ko lng
-the shoulder is not an extra lane, and it's NEVER for passing/overtaking. it's there for emergencies like for repairing a flat tire, pulling over at a portalet station for bio-break, etc.

haha marunong ba kayo magdrive at magfollow ng mga simpleng batas. Mas maganda nga flow ng traffic kesa dati daming sumisingit at nagsnakedriving kasi walang speed limit. Ingat nalang yun mabibilis mag maneho diyan

the NLEX patrols would just rather let you go on a warning than take a bribe.

Thats why we have a speedlimit so that it will lessen the accidents. The main reason they renovated NLEX is for a more smoother flow of traffic, not for speeding.

Just to update this thread, just came from Baguio, and nahuli ako sa speed trap. While I did not contest the ticket, I'd just like to say that 100kph is really far too slow for the NLEX. You have a four lane, perfectly surfaced road, and I think 120-140 is an acceptable speed limit. You've improved the highway, but you have the same speed limit as the old NLEX. I think there's some leeway here since 120 at the new NLEX is way safer vs 100 in the old.

Anyways, magkano ba yung fine sa speeding? Went to the LTO website and wala akong makitang speeding. The closest was disregarding traffic signs siguro, which is P150. Sana wala nang seminar. And I hope my license is available na this Thursday, since nakalagay sa ticket na dapat within 72 hours pupunta na ako sa LTO.

Well at least nalaman ko yung top speed ng APV ko with 8 people + baggage + pasalubong: speed trap verified at 136kph.
