Nope. I wasn't running the whole stretch at that speed... likely during overtaking but not near any bridgeway nor stalled cars or even patrol cars of TPLEX.

I really suspect they only assumed I was running at that speed.

Problem is the pink slip I got from them indicated my car color as GRAY when it should be BROWN. Then I remembered there was a Monty dark gray that was also flagged down ahead of me. Then I remembered, that if they really called in my flight and they have a speedcam photo capture, then they would know the plate number right ahead. Why then did the LTO deputised person went infront of my car to capture the plate number details?

    Strange right?

And yes, my radar detector did not detected any unusual nor gave an alarm the whole stretch of TPLEX.

Usually, this has worked very well along Macapagal, SCTEX, SKYWAY, and SLEX before.

additionally, if they cannot produce a speedcam capture of my vehicle, can I contest and refuse to pay the penalty even if they got my license?

The LTO deputized guy who got it promised to have a copy of the photo emailed to me Monday morning. So far I have not received one...

And I have to pay the penalty in 72 hours.

Dont pay attention to the 72 hours, you actually have 14 days to care of that speeding ticket. I found that out the hard way when I was also flagged down in La Paz exit for speeding *123kph. I went to LTO as per the 72 hour instruction. I went there very early so that I can take care of everything before noon but found out that my ticket hasn't been validated yet and waited another hour. The other guys behind me who came a week after were able to attend the first seminar and test. I end up taking the 1 pm schedule and finished at around 4.

Bakit hindi na lang kasi sundin ang 100KPH rule.

Tapos magtatanong kayo. Kung nasunod yung speed limit hindi sana kayo problemado.

There is a seminar when you got apprehended.

A friend of mine got tagged with overspeeding but got an obstruction as violation. Lesser penalty but still, you will have to attend the seminar, and pay.

According to my sister who works within the premises of LTO, you will have to attend a seminar if your violation is while driving/ operating a motor vehicle.

No seminar for violations like defectiv headlight, tail light, dilapidated plates, etc.

    thanks for your point...

I don't mind paying if I was really over-speeding... it seems that there is no speedcam photo captured that can be provided, hence my point on what options / remedies do we have against potential abuses of these LTO deputised folks...

    Thanks for the note bro.

When you were apprehended at 123kph, were they able to provide you a speedcam copy of your vehicle moving that fast?

The only reason I asked, is that many years ago, I got flagged driving a Fortuner at 127kph, and they were able to provide one via email.

Last weekend, I got flagged at TPLEX, and up to now, they cannot email me one. Hence, my it seems to me that either they mis-apprehended my vehicle for another vehicle of the same brand, type but different color. Why? Because, on the pink slip, they wrote body color as GRAY, when my vehicle is a BROWN Montero.

The other thing is TPLEX is under San Miguel group while NLEX - SCTEX supposedly managed under MVP group. Hence, are the folks deputised by LTO with supposed speed cam guns employed by San Miguel or MVP companies or directly by LTO?

    TIA!

depends on the mood of the apprehending officer and the way you "deal" with them. Usually those assigned on expressways won't let violators go scot-free. So kung medyo "mabait" ka namang kausap, they downgrade the violation. I had mine (overspeeding) downgraded to obstruction. Yun nga lang, seminarista pa rin

Simple lang naman eh. If you know hindi ka nag over speed walang question regarding sa huli mo. Kung alam mo na hindi ka nag over speed kaagad agad sasabihin mo sa kanila na hindi ka lumalagpas sa 100kph.

At right there makikipagtalo kana at sasabihin mo na hindi mo pipirmahan yung ticket kasi contest mo.

Remedies of what? Abuses?

Follow the Rule then NO question.

Both answers shouldn't matter in your case. Although I believe they are employed by the private sector but is licensed by the LTO to issue tickets. We all know how inefficient the government is... and I'm pretty sure these private companies won't like variables as a possible business risk.

actually, it does... if you read in the context of my recent experience...

if you get caught along NLEX, you can expect that they will email you a copy of your speedcam capture

so far, if you get caught along TPLEX, you cannot be sure if they really caught you overspeeding since they cannot email you a copy of the speedcam capture

Whether that is a matter influenced by these private companies, I am not sure and hence, I ask the question to help get enlightenment and also for others to learn from this.

If the LTO deputies are employed, managed or governed consistently, I would expect that if you are supposedly caught on a speedcam to have the same protocols, right?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts though. I am sure there will be more folks who can chime in and learn from this.

good suggestion... there were three of them, so I guess might be difficult to pull this off...
