Frequently shifting from D to N and vice versa, however, puts strain on the gearbox and its electronically controlled solenoids. In the long run, this may result in premature failure of some components, and a hefty repair bill. It’s also a common misconception that holding the car with the brakes leads to additional wear and tear on the braking parts. Since the car is stationary, there is no friction between the pads and discs, so there is no extra wear.
...but the manual does not reveal such effect; the manual even states/suggests otherwise to prevent damage to the disc.

    40% highway; 60% city.

I see. Swerte na ng mga may unit. Almost covers the financing charge. Yari na pag may E-VAT pa. Those are the reasons (price increase and E-VAT) why lots of expectant owners feel MORE agitated.

Hi guys, at long last the agent called us this morning to inform us that our unit's ready. Good timing because the unit price will increase by 40k at the end of the week. I'll post the pictures when she's parked in our garage.

guess what peeps, had a chat with the regional mktg officer of metrobank and he said they filed a formal complaint with toyota motor phils re dealers forcing clients to get in-house financing, kelseats and dvds. they cited blackmailing and not giving the clients the freedom to choose their preferred financing schemes. he cited OTIS as their number one enemy. to fellow future fortuner owners, don'tworry kung nakapila kayo sa dealers na nagte-take advantage kasi malapit na matapos ang maliligayang araw nila.

Quite ironic for something like this to come from someone working for Metrobank and to think Metrobank is a big shareholder in Toyota Motors Phil (the manufacturers of Toyota in the Phils).

Another irony, a friend of mine made a reservation for the Fortuner last May at Toyota Cubao Inc. (A Metrobank owned dealer) and last month they were told to get IHF (In-house financing) as a mandatory requisite to get their unit. I swear this is true. Btw, instead they settled for a unit from a competing brand, after being so fed up with this racket. They have been deceived since last May.

In the end it becomes quite clear that they (Metrobank) just want to rid themselves of some competition (Otis), particularly the sleazest ones that are stealing them of customers to "victimize". Anyways, it serves Otis right, for their day shall come to an end NOW.
