i just had my 5T check up yesterday and used semi synthetic oil. i'd rather have the oil changed at 5T than using fully synthetic and change at 10T.
this has been my practice with the MB100 for 9yrs now and it's still running good.

For those who are using an ipod in thier Fortuners...
Has anyone tried using the PIE -- para hindi na mag palit ng HU.
According to the manufacturer and local distributors, this creates an Auxillary In sa stock HU. Para magamitan ng Ipod or any other device (CD changer etc).
What do you think about this gadget...will it work?
Saka will this void the warranty of the HU or the car itself?

The HU has an extra din plug that goes into the PIE unit which in turn will accept RCA cables from either your disc changer or Ipod. Good clean sound although the HU will not display the song details you see in the ipod nor will it allow you to control the Ipod from the HU. While using the Ipod, the HU will display "track 1 - disc 1" because it thinks the music source is a disc changer.

This thing is definitely way better than an iTrip.

Stock HU ba yan na Fujitsu? Sinabi kasi nung SA namin di daw pwede. San po pinalagay and how much?

hindi ba mahirap tanggalin HU ng fortuner? how much ang monster cable for this?
i tried this PIE product on my crv. i got it from the main distributor in mantrade. very easy installation, wala pang 5 minutes. the one i got is thru the cd changer port, goes out as an rca then in to the earphones of the ipod. very clear sound. one thing i didn't like is the cheap rca cable that they gave produces static/ distortion. they recommend monster cable rca daw to prevent this.
they are also offering the full interface. kaso mga 10T na ata. and i duno kung may text display. tsaka down side is it will go staight to the playlists. pano yung songs na wala sa playlist? hindi mo na maaaccess. kaya i settled for the rca type. mas mura yung sa crv(kenwood HU) P1700 than fortuner's.

Guys, question lang...wala ba talagang confirmation sound/alert yung Fortuner when I arm/disarm the security system? I notice only the signal lights flash and the security LED to turn on but no audible signals. Ganito ba talaga?

Check your manual... There's an instruction on how to have the horns honk when you arm/dis-arm the alarm.

Personally, I prefer the silent arming. The alarm horns can be quite loud. It's like announcing to the neighborhood that you're arming/dis-arming your Fortuner.

Actually, I've tried that one already. Have you succesfully turned on/off that feature yourself? Medyo na-frustrate na kasi sa kakasubok eh (I'm usually a DIY guy too). I only succeed up to the part where the signal lights flash once( i think) indicating that you have succeeded in entering the security options mode (something like that). I get lost after that. Pwede po ba mag pa-post or PM ng step by step of actual "enabling"?

I prefer audible armin/disarming because after I park, sometimes I just walkaway and just click on the arm button without looking anymore at the vehicle. Naging habit ko na kasi eh. hehe! Thanks!

i had mine disarmed by the service supervisor of my dealer. medyo mabusisi ang activation/deactivation because the guy wasn't able to get it in one try. it required inserting and removing the key from the ignition several times, at timed intervals. it would be best if you have it turned on/off by your dealer while you're watching. just my two cents...

Remember I was telling you about this. Ang sabi ng dealer ng PIE direct daw ito sa stock HU ng Fortuner. Sa market (Mobile1) they're selling it for 5.5K.

Let me know if you want this one so I can call the dealer uli ad ask if there is a discount pag 2 bibili. Or baka makakuha tayo ng iba pang buyers sa Fortuner forum para group buy at mas mura =) Pero naka single din set up ka na diba?? Sayang!

Mickey's Autosound in Marikina for 5k (but this was last Oct. pa). I also suggest you get the Monster Cable RCA to 3.5mm to minimize distortion. His contact numbers if you're interested : 0917-8559289, 0917-5299309, 647-2298, 6472808.

I just recently bought an RType cell phone holder (in true value, the ipod fits perfectly!) and the sendstation pocketdock to complete the setup. I'll be painting the cellphone holder beige/sand so that it will blend-in with the dashboard/interior. I'll post a picture when everything is in place.

peeps, guess what? nabangga ang rear bumper ko ng.....puno! he he. umaaatras ako last saturday pm sa parking ng picnic grove sa tagaytay. medyo umaambon at foggy na so ayun, sapul ang puno. may konting dent ang left side ng rear bumper ko. mahina din kasi ang beeping sound ng reverse sensor na pina-install ko. thankful pa rin ako kasi hindi kotse ang tinamaan ko. ang nakakainis lang eh ako lang masisisi. nananahimik ang puno, he he. will have it serviced tom sa toyota bicutan, php 4,500.00 ang estimate nila. wala daw kasi stock na bumper, within a month daw ang availability so they will just have it reformed. maliit lang naman ang damage.

Yup, it's possible... I got an iPod photo cable (mas mura sa CompLink compared to the Apple store). I've connected my video iPod to our TV and my mom's nextbase DVD tablet. I've even connected to a multi-media projector. No distortion...

Ako kasi merong Belkin Auto Kit (charger and line out for Ipod). Holder na lang kelangan ko para ma-kumpleto ang set up =)

If everything falls into place I'll have the PIE installed this weekend =)

i drove my Fortuner 2.7 vvt-i to tagaytay. daan din ako skyway my top speed is 140 sayang nga eh kaya pang bilisan kaso short yung road. para ngang hindi 140 kasi stable sya. ok na ok, next time ulit!!!
