I already recoup my IHF, bec. of the price increase. I made a HUGE downpayment. with a small remaning balance for financing. the interest was negligable. I trick the dealer into believing I give in to the IHF.

With a vehicle like a Fortuner, I would expect a certain degree of bounciness as a part of the package. Imagine going on rough terrain or carrying heavier loads with a softer suspension. The bounciness can be reduced by following Toyota's guidelines on the proper tire pressure.

My tires are only 28psi, ride is still bouncy & wobbly (if cornering) especially on cemented roads. smooth asphalts roads have much better ride. Anyway I'm almost at 3T km on my odo. So far fuel consumption have improved. Its my 5th straight fill up (full tank 1st click). and averaging around 6.1 to 6.4 km/liter (2.7 VVTi). almost the same consumption with my 2nd gen CRV.

I've got friends and some acquaintances who've confirmed that the 2.7G VVTi is indeed quite bouncy. But, all of the complainants used to own cars. Coming from a car, any frame-on-ladder SUV will feel rather bouncy.

As for the 3.0V D4D, I can say that the ride is a lot gentler than my Gen2 4x2 CR-V. I believe the difference in ride between the Fortuner 4x2 & 4x4 units can be attributed to the vehicles' weights. With similar suspension and tire pressure, the 3.0V would offer a gentler ride due to the added weight pushing on the suspension.

As for consumption, I am now consistently getting over 8km/li on my 3.0V. I've so far peaked at 8.7lm/li. And, this is mixed highway and city driving. All driving done during peak rush hour traffic.

If asked, the only thing I don't like about the 3.0V is the need to cool down the turbo after long drives. I need a turbo timer...

ei, guys! New here! I think all of you are interested with this article:

    Carjackers have new modus operandi

A LITTLE after midnight on Aug. 27, businessman Peter Asuncion (not his real name) was driving his Toyota Vios along a Quezon City street, when he was blocked by a big, maroon car.

Four heavily armed men got out and introduced themselves as policemen assigned to a mobile checkpoint.

With an Armalite rifle pointed at him, Asuncion transferred to the other car, and was driven to a dark tunnel where they took his wallet, watch, and ATM and credit cards, as well as PIN numbers.

The men got Asuncion’s car and other valuables, and an amount he could only describe as “big.”

Asuncion is not the only victim. The stories are the same: a small group of burly men, brandishing high-powered weapons and introducing themselves as authorities, stop and rob the victims.

Police believe the same group is responsible for a series of carjacking incidents in Quezon City.

The group, said Quezon City Police District Anti-Carnapping Task Force and Unit chief Supt. Ceasar Tannagan, those expensive cars and struck between 11 p.m. and 3 a.m.

Victims described the suspects as 30 to 45 years old, big, and “military-looking.” Their vehicles had sirens and blinkers. Asuncion said they seemed “too disciplined to be ordinary criminals.”

QCPD deputy director for operations Sr. Supt. Samuel Pagdilao advised motorists to avoid unlit roads late at night, and to call 117 if a vehicle with sirens tries to stop them.

:jump:
