I cant feel any air blowing out from the windshield vents of my unit if I set the fan speed at #1 (my usual setting) however if I set it at 5 there is a minimal air coming out.Originally Posted by franci_rod

Fortuner at the Ambuklao Road . . . . eating dust.
The Fortuner’s stock 4x4 drivetrain is very capable and with an overly torquey 3.0 CRDI engine, it can easily haul a full load up a mountain . . . . no sweat!
Per our actual experience, the only weak point of the Fortuner is the stock front suspension. On our way down, still loaded, we kept bottoming out our front end and our underbelly kept hitting the rocks on the trail . . . blag . . . . blag . . . . blag at every switchback on the trail. Luckily the Fortuner comes with stock skid plates . . . severely dented by now (but, heck, that’s what it’s for) . . . . . time to change to Old Man Emu front coilovers.
Wow! Great shots! You'd think these weren't taken in the Philippines.Originally Posted by jaeger
At higher altitudes, you get better shots on sunny days, because of the thinner air.
I observed a Fortuner 3.0V today and I noticed that the exhaust is quite smoky and it emitted more smoke (carbon-particles) during acceleration. Is this normal for a diesel this new? I can only imagine the view of what the back of this vehicle would be like as the diesel engine gets run-in with more mileages covered.
And no, I'm not putting the vehicle down. I'm just trying to raise this concern. A sales agent is offering me a 4x4 and I'm still in the process of deciding whether to get it not.
btw, this was observed in a hot sunny afternoon, with the car on a stand still idle and driven away afterwards.
