Having these accessories are good. But I do not always rely on them. I always apply the basics. I use side mirror, rear view mirror, or if I'm not yet boarded the vehicle, check the perimeter of the car including under it.
It will be difficult to go back to basic if we get used to these gadgets. What if it fails while you're already inside the car? And you're no longer have that instinct or no longer doing the basic checks. It will be a safety concern. Been driving for more than 20 years and never use a backup camera. For me, camera is just for recording purposes. But it can be useful for others. As for the sensor, if you want it cover the sides of the rear, the sensitivity can be adjusted. Again, if you have them, no problem. They can be your assistant. But don't always rely on them. Always do the basics so you won't forget it. Driving is a skill that requires instinct. I hope these gadgets will not destroy our instinct. Just a safety tip.
^ I have been driving 30+ years and let me tell you that life before parking sensors and rear cameras was hell.... relatively speaking.
I have rear parking sensors and a reverse camera. Combine those with your mirrors and some neck-turning, and there’s practically no reason for you to get out of your vehicle before backing up into a slot.
Bottom line is, when in doubt, double-check. That said, having these driver aids on its own reduces the chances of fender benders quite significantly.
^^^I observed nowadays that most drivers who have these aids, when they are reversing, they just looked at the screen monitor and no longer looking at the left and right side mirrors anymore. 'Coz the aid of the screen monitor is catching more attention than the latter. Try to observe it.
It’s a judgment call. There could be a number of reasons why they do that. Top of mind is, they may have already taken a good look at the space they plan to back into upon approach.
The next time you see someone do that, ask them why.
But unless there’s data that suggests that the use of driving aids, specifically sensors and rear cameras, causes more harm than good, there is absolutely no reason not to have or use them.
Parking sensors and cameras can see obstacles most drivers might miss. Low bollards and parking lines/thresholds, walls, etc. These aids helps you park your vehicle with precision.

I only have 2 eyes of sensors installed at the back. Gamit pa rin ang side mirrors for additional safety check.
One time when I was parked in a mall, the car in front of my slot was parking in reverse.
How much ba yung usual discount if magdownpayment ng 300k? What are the freebies na usual ibigay?
I have always been a proponent of using OEM fluids for components as important (and expensive) as the A/T, but humor me for a moment on this....
Has anyone tried the Zic ATF III (or Zic ATF 3) on the Innova D4D 1st Gen?
Or can you share what non-Toyota ATF you've used for the D4D variant (A340E A/T transmission)?
guys, it's been a while since i last posted here in the forums. happy new year muna bago mahuli. [emoji38]
anyways, here's my situation right now, the in-laws are migrating to the US in a couple months. they have a '17 innova 2.8 E AT currently at 83K kms, essentially 31 months old. ginawang grab ni erpats kasi.
question now, is it wise to assume paying the remaining 29 months? (around 500k), or have them sell it to somebody else. di kasi inalagaan ni erpats, after the 10K PMS, void na kaagad warranty. body dents all around. he blew the high pressure ac hose in the engine bay, not sure how. we already replaced the alternator bearing. front shocks are on the way. pati all 4 tires nga are of different brands, same sizes though.
but since you guys have the same car for sometime now, you might say this thing is tough and can take a beating. i might as well take it instead of buying new for my small family of 4 (5 and 1yr old kids). currently driving a gen 1 vios and with 2 carseats, medyo masikip na talaga.
sorry for the long story. mas ok na yong kumpleto detalyi. lol. Thanks!

how was the engine oil maintenance? tranamissions fluid? the engine is heavy duty but if the fluids werent changed on time then it might have some issues in the future.
ive riden some fortuners na grab.. they had so much vibrations and suspensions were awful.
suspension and brake parts are normal wear and tear items. plenty of parts.. fake parts thats for sure lol.
^^ shhh baka mahalata edad. [emoji28]
regular naman oil change outside casa. Re ATF, haven't been changed yet. i opened the manual just now and it says to replace at 80K with the condition it's being subjected to.
agree on suspension parts as normal wear items. the body dents i don't worry too much, i know a body shop that can get it done for less.
