your mechanic, having seen the shoes, and us/me, not having seen them... i think your mechanic is in a better position to determine what should be done, sir.

and the handbrake cables are attached to both left and right rear brake assemblies. they can, however be (mal-)adjusted to favor one side... which is wrong.

    naku... hindi ko alam.
yung sakin kasi, pinili ko yung pinaka-mura nilang generic, non-branded model.

Hi po.. My car po is Innova 2.5J M/T, 5 months pa lang. Last Sunday, bumigay na po yung clutch. Na-tow kami. What exactly is clutch driver?

Ideally, the clutch should be either only all the way in (pedal down 100%) or all the way out (pedal not touched at all). The only time that the clutch is not at either 100% or 0% is when you are changing gears or engaging the first gear from a stop.

If you find yourself driving the car often with the clutch pedal partially pushed in, then you are a clutch driver (and you will wear out your clutch quickly). Even light pressure by your foot on the clutch pedals of some vehicles can already trigger the vehicle clutch.

As an example, if you constantly drive up inclines and deal with 'hanging' situations by playing with the clutch and gas instead of the brake, this will also wear out your clutch quickly.

That said, 5 months seems too short to burn out the clutch.

    Hope this helps.

even if you are a clutch driver, 5 months is still fast... or you may not be noticing it.. you are not entirely releasing the clutch pedal.. maybe your foot is always on the pedal..

i forgot to mention the more common cause of "frozen brakes" syndrome..
the shoes stick to the inner walls of the drum, when they dry overnight with the handbrake on.
it's not difficult to disengage these, although it may pose as a surprise to the un-initiated. with the engine running, shift rear and first gear alternately, rocking the car, to loosen the sticking shoes. bibigay din yan. but be prepared when it does, so as to avoid cracking tita's prize boungainvilla's paso..

Nice share dr.d. Thanks for the info since this can happen to anyone with drum brakes.

Sir, is your steering wheel control still working on the new kenwood unit?

Not yet. But I have a steering wheel control adapter coming in from eBay in a few days. I'll report back when I've got it installed.

Siguro 3-5mm thick which is roughly the same sa images sa net. Labor pala is 350.
