    ok lang yan.
i do it all the time... 1 week, 2 weeks...
    one click start naman afterward.
just make sure your battery is charged. mas mabilis masira ang battery, kapag discharged siya for longer periods..
and be sure pests do not house in the engine bay. check first siguro before starting..

one time, 2 weeks kong hindi nagamit.
pag-start ko, may isang squeek akong narinig, at biglang kumalabog ang ulo ng isang daga sa lupa...

Speaking of battery, paano ba malalaman kung need na palitan? Mine is 3 years old na. Ang nanonotice ko lang, kapag 1st start ko after a week na di nagamit, humihina ang ilaw ng cabin light. Other than that, walang delayed starts nor hard starts.

even with new battery, the starting current requirement is so large, almost all cars will show a temporary light dimming..
the average lifespan of a car battery is 2 to 3 years. beyond that, the battery may just die overnight, with very minimal warning beforehand..
many AT owners i know, have battery chargers in their house. only MTs may be reliably started using the push method. buti na lang, my EFI car is easy to push-start, unlike older electromechanical cars.

one colleague, replaces her car battery every 2 years, regardless. she had dead battery syndrome before, and does not like to re-live the helplessness.

so, to get back to your question.. my answer is, with today's modern car electronics, i would not expect any warning at all. i have had to push-start my car in the morning, because of dead battery. when i parked her the night before, everything was textbook-perfect.

If you know your vehicle well, you can get tell-tale signs that the battery is heading out the door. For instance on my Civic, the gauge lights (Optitron) shows varied levels of dimming whenever I start the engine depending on the state of the battery. As the battery ages, the dimming gets more intense and I know enough that the battery is about to give out.

But it's really no big deal nowadays. Just be prepared. I always bring along a pair of jumper cables. In a pinch, you can usually hail a cab and use the cables to start your car. Hand him a P50 bill and be on your way. Or you just call up Motolite Express Delivery and have a new battery in about 30 minutes. If you have insurance or discount/VIP cards from some gas stations, they usually bundle roadside assistance for free and they're just a phone call away.

If you travel a lot outside major cities, you should consider replacing the old battery prior to the trip.

speaking from experience.. the thought of forking over 3000 bucks, will hinder eyesight and sound judgement.. it did mine.. i refused to heed the subtle signs of impending battery failure.. and so, i couldn't start my car one morning.

that motolite express delivery is a tourist trap!
you can get a much better price if you call the store before dropping by.

btw... how good is that gadget being sold in SM.. claims that little thingee can start a car..

The delivery do cost a little higher but I wouldn't go as far as calling it a tourist trap. If I'm not mistaken, they're charging whereabouts of P500 more than the regular cost and they do take credit cards. Maybe consider it as a last resort, in case you get stranded in an empty parking lot at 3AM.

I've seen those little gadgets but I don't have any experience with them.

    not me.
i move off a few seconds after my engine starts.
and i put her off a few seconds after i drive into my garage.
of course, my house is located several corners from the main road. by the time i get to apply more speed, the engine lubrication will have been fully realized already. and by the time i get home, the engine will already have been running on low, for some time.

No need to warm up. Just use it immediately after starting. Although, you might want to take it easy until it reaches the operational temp.

As for cooling down, you might want to do it after a sustained high-speed run. This is to give the turbo time to cool down. It is cooled by the engine oil and the circulation stops when you shut off the engine.

I know what you mean. But you have to look at it from a perspective of being a premium service.

It's really hard to say what needs to be replaced because we don't know the history of your car, how it was driven and what mods you have. For instance, if you have blanked the EGR, this should typically prolong the life of the engine oil so you don't have to replace it as often.

Around 90% of the maintenance tasks are already documented in the manual. Undocumented tasks (the remaining 10%) may include on-demand or as-needed maintenance. That could include A/C cleaning (rear A/C in particular) especially if it doesn't have a filter, rust inspection and/or rust-proofing, suspension play/rattle, etc.

if this was your vehicle from brand new, then i suppose the manual lists down a repair or maintenance or replacement schedule. do it.
but if you bought this vehicle from its previous owner, and you do not know just how faithfully that owner maintained her, ... some will recommend you replace all fluids and consumables..

just changed the engine oil and filter ng innova ng ate ko at 20k km mark....overdue na nga yung oil (more than 10k km on dino oil). hehehe

just did it myself. anlayo ng nearest toyota dealer samin. about 5 hrs away. not worth it para paservice pa doon considering the travel time, pagod at gastos sa travel pa lamang. one time dumaan ako para sa change oil nya e andami na nakapila. sabi e baka kinabukasan ko na makuha. kaya bumili na lang ako oil, filter and plug gasket. sabi ng toyota e di naman daw maaapektuhan ang warranty kung ako gumawa (ewan ko lang sa kanila). mistake ko nga nakalimutan ko bumili ng fuel filter.

ayun, parang mas bumilis ang arangkada after mapalitan ng langis.

    wala lang. just sharing
