Been using Synthetic oil since 2009. Oil change every 10K and top up every 5K.
Is it advisable to change to mineral-based oil? If yes, what can you recommend?
What's the use of top up every 5k? And gaano karami ang top up every 5k?
You can change to mineral oil, pero sabi nila you need to change muna from fully synthetic to semi synthetic before ka mag mineral oil.
[QUOTE= yes, but.... kinda defeats the purpose of why you thought you got the AT in the first place... "popcar-driving", 'di ba? (others call it "bumpcar driving", but i think that's a little too radical ..)
by its very design, in everyday use, AT almost always will give worse fuel efficiency than the MT equivalent.. "sliippage"...[/QUOTE]
Not actually defeating the purpose dr. d. I am not eliminating the comfort of driving an AT, I am just suggesting how to improve fuel efficiency.
When I was still studying in Baguio I was using a bnew Mazda Familia 1.6 AT. My full tank would last only for 4 days in a daily drive of not more than 15Kms albeit mostly uphill. Then drove Isuzu Bighorn, Ford Everest, and now Innova all AT and learned the technique by tinkering on the OD button and releasing the gas pedal and it worked well in increasing fuel efficiency. Driving behavior also counts a lot.
You may not agree with me but what I was doing on an AT since 1994 works for me. Although I'm heavy built, I always have a light foot on the pedal.
This link that I've read a long time might help. Myths About Manuel Transmissions Compared To Automatic | AAMCO Colorado
By the way, I am not biased with AT, I also drive MT. My 2 cars that I sold this month are both MTs. A Toyota Cressida and a Mitsubishi Lancer. The Cressida has a very comfortable drive and handling but a gas guzzler as well.
Thanks to all who gave their inputs.
Di pa ako paps nakapagdrive ng A/T.
Palitan nyo sir spark plugs nyo ng iridium, it will help in improving your combustion, therefore mas ramdam nyo yung change sa hatak and mas mabilis ma-reach yung rpm requirement mo.
Another Minor Model Change for the Innova?

At least di pa tayo old model. . .
Wag lang naka 2.5 d4d VNT yan, o kaya 2.7 dual vvti, madami ma tempt mag upgrade. :-)
5th gear, at 2,000 RPM tumatakbo na yan at 80km/h, at around 3,000 RPM, nasa 100+ km/h na ano pa hahanapin mo hehehe... VVT-i yan.
