i am totally ignorant on this, but... but how does one know which filter is good, which is better, and which is bad? i mean, who evaluates these and who makes the announcement?

For everyone's peace of mind, we can stick to OEM filter or its equivalent (Vic, Bosch, Balwin, etc.) as long as we follow the owner's manual of change oil filter every 5,000kms. Fully synthetic oil users (good for 10,000kms) are still advise by our dealers to change oil filter after 5,000kms interval.

In real sense change oil filter every 5,000kms and you are protected.

I just bought a 2012 Innova G Gas A/T. I noticed that it does not come with an engine/hood insulator. Yung parang black fiber glass. My sales agent told me that it is not a standard for Gas type Innova's. Meron daw ganun for the Diesel.

Is this really true?

To those who bought Gas models, can you please confirm if your unit came with an engine/hood insulator?

9500 din kung bibili ako sa CASA nito.

Thanks in advance! I can still go back to Toyota and insist if meron sa inyo tapos sakin wala...Baka nakalimutan lang kasi ikabit....ayoko maniwala sa sales agent ng basta ganun na lang. Thanks!

The hood insulator is only available for D-4D engines (from J to V variant). Innova Gas/petrol fed engines (from J to V variant) does not have this.

However, it is available for order at the dealer's accessories counter. There is a lead time involved and it costs around Php 10K.

nagulat lang ako actually na wala. yung avanza G gas na binili ko kasi nung 2007, meron kasama nun. eh eto, variant G din naman and gas type and mas mahal pa nga kay sa avanza, tapos walang insulator...i really got very disappointed. maganda kasi may insulator.

Anyboday here knows where I can buy a cheap (but of decent quality) insulator? 9,500php kasi sa casa. Mahal din. Baka meron sa inyo nakabili na before and mura lang. Please share details where you bought it and for how much. Thanks!

Nothing beats the original. :D Its not only for aesthetics but the insulation has a function as well.

White pearl color. That's why i'm more concerned kasi bka mabilis dumumi yung hood ko. Ayaw kasi ni misis ang bronze metallic or black

Diesel variants lang ang may insulator....

Mas mainit kasi ang operating temperature ng diesel vs. gas.....

afaik wala talaga sa gas variant nun. hindi rin kasi ganun kaingay kapag gas unlike sa diesel.

At least ngaun kahit isang oras akong tumakbo, walang maramdamang init sa ibabaw ng hood, unless init ng sikat ng araw, un lang ang makakapagpainit ng ibabaw ng hood. My unit is a 2010 Innova G VVTi. I bought this insulator at Karplus here in Makati. Idinidikit lang 'to at di madaling matanggal. So far for two years now, di naman natatanggal at wala pang kumakawang.

Actually you don't need hood insulator for Innova Gas Variant, wala pa akong nakitang nag fade ang hood ng Gas Variant.
