Toyota Innova Gas Tank woes

Don't know the part number for the 2005-2009 models but I have seen that the filler cap are not the same, 2010 model's filler cap have larger breather holes.

The part number for the charcoal canister can be easily seen as a sticker on the body. As for the filler cap, I'll take a measurement of the internals later and post

but the charcoal canister part number didn't change since the first release of innova. Since there are no markings on the cap, the only way to verify is to take measurements of the internals. I'll post one later.

Yung nga, it is the black rectangular and upright, naka clip lang yan sa base that you can easy unclip and pull up.

After 2 warped gas tanks, casa still installed the old filler cap design on my car, but it seems the new tank is already holding strong after more than 2 years.

hmmm wonder what yota is doing... from their parts catalog the petrol tank didn't change - all throughout its 77001-0K310.

mine is more than a year old already approaching 20k. tank seems to be still in good shape.

Fortunately, didn't encounter the gas tank problem on my '07 Innova, up to now that I sold it to my brother.

I've been reading a lot about innova's gas tank problem since last year.I had mine last dec 31 new years eve and it was a hell of a day.can you imagine the gas leak I had and it was new years eve. I kept the car really in a very safe place. Anyway, I had mine repaired by a radiator shop near SA area naming. Hinang Lang ginawa at nagging itsura Nya pang patch ng bola na kulay itim. Mura Lang pero di KO na piña Iran canister at cap. sad to say just tonight may leak nanamn tank KO same area. meron ba kayoing ma suggest na repair shop na Maganda gumawa?I don't know if palpak Lang yung gumawa ng tank KO or talagang palpak ng Toyota yun?bago or luma lalalbas pa in yung problem na leak. heard from cast no show you had fixed yours recently may I know where at kamusta ang gawk naman?at how much?anyone who had their innova fixed or repaired recently yung tank?any suggestion I'm planning to have it repaired again hay Toyota!Help guys thank you?

I was sitting at Jorge's radiator shop a few weeks ago and a customer came in and got the leak of his Innova fuel tank fixed by Jorge. Hindi mo ba unit yun sir? hehe

Problema talaga yan sir, antagal ko tiniis yan. I had my gas tank repaired dun sa mga welding shops that repair radiators too nothing special along the road nga lang yun. If you read back, after having your gas tank repaired which i suggest you must compared to buying a new one that will cost you around 16k sayang pera. You MUST REPLACE YOUR CHARCOAL CANISTER! its a must! kaya naulit yun leak mo kasi hindi mo pinalitan yun charcoal canister mo, and the filler cap too! eto no choice buy ka na ng brand new. nag canvass ako hindi nalalayo presyo sa casa tsaka sa mga nagtitinda ng genuine parts. Charcoal canister is around 9.5k i bought mine around 4k kaso sa abroad thankfully a relative is coming home kaya libre na yung shipping. Yun lang i still haven't changed my filler cap, as of the moment niluluwagan ko na lang yung filler cap ko.

I already had mine fixed. Nalaman ko that the first repair eh hinang Lang so this time welding na ginawa plus pinadouble plate ko pa.Mahina or mnaipis talaga ang lata na ginamit sa tank natin per comment ng mga Tao sa repair shop compared sa iba. May nag suggest sa akin dun and this might help us sa paglagay ng gas. Ang kadalasan ginagawa is pinapasok agad yung buong hose or tip sa tank natin then fill what we don't know is may hang in ang unang pump ng gas therefore yung hang in na yun napupunta at na stock sa tank natin when done Sabay sarado ng cap. The next time we fill up pag ikaw may pressure pAlabas at yun ung hang in na stock the last time that causes sa pag dent ng tank nAtin. So paramaiwasan, pag maglalagay tayo ng gas don't let the tip of the hose be inside our tank na, nakapatong muna while we can see the tip and gas flowing for a while then around 30 seconds to 1 min na continuous flowing saka na ipasok, with this na eliminate na daw yung hang in na pumasok sa tank natin from the pressure ng hose. Once done let it open first about 30 minutes to 1 min para sigurado walang hang in then close it. Try nyo this might help and I'm doing it now.

The culprit is your defective charcoal canister, ang main purpose nun is to let the gas tank breathe. If hindi mo papalitan the damage wil recur, same damage on the same spot. Hindi dahil sa hangin from filling gas, eh di sana pala lahat ng sasakyan may ganyan na problema. Hindi man aminin ng toyota sablay talaga design ng charcoal canister nila. ako ngayon hindi ko pa din sinasara ng todo yun filler cap naka ikot lang dun sa point na hindi siya mahuhugot. pero hindi ko pinapaabot dun sa kriiiiiik na sound.
