Thanks flux214. I will read the manual pag not busy na. I have a new concern sa inno ko na AT. Pag nilagay ko sa park there are times pag ilalagay na sa reverse matigas ang kambyo and may thud sound. Nakaapak naman ako sa brake while doing that. Similar sya sa pag huminto ka sa medyo inclined ang kalsada at nilagay mo sa P without using handbrake and releasing foot brake. D ba mahirap ilagay sa R

    Hi,

I'm kinda torn between the Hilux and Innova. I just realized its hard to carry bikes on a flat bed hilux, while the innova will accommodate two whole bikes inside. Aside from that, its going to be hard to carry a surfboard on the Hilux too, while the innova you just attach a rack. However, I also need a vehicle that can go semi off road with good flood wading capabilities in metro manila flood, so my question is, how big can the innova go with the wheel upgrades and how will this affect performance and road safety?

    Thanks!

Nope. Too expensive. Still a choice between the mid range Innova or the mid range 4 x 2 Hilux.

The Toyota Innova would be able to handle semi-offroad conditions. Still the most practical vehicle one can buy. Plus it has a larger 2.8 engine albiet detuned for fuel efficiency.

4x2 lang pala comparison mo sa hilux. Halos parehas lang capability nyan. Mas mataas lang ground clearance ng hilux

Yep. That is why I am asking ano pede largest wheels i-accommodate ng innova. you know how it is here in metro manila during rainy season.

The Innova has a 500mm wading depth while the Hilux has 700mm, though the Innova already has better flood fording capabilities than most CUVs.

For really high floods, the best course of action is to wait it out or find another route. The usual half-wheel deep floods that follow a strong rainshower can easily be handled by the Innova.

It looks like you're considering the Hilux only because of the additional height, but the Innova is a better fit for all your other needs.

The last time I actually forded a flood was Ondoy, using our Altis where the water reached as high as the front parking sensors. When I got a Ranger in 2013, I was so excited to ford metro floods with it. The chance never came, highest was gutter deep floods in Makati when I was coming home from the office one night. Point is - yes, the metro becomes a basin during strong rains, but you don't experience prohibitively high floods on a regular basis, and you can always opt to avoid them.

Sounds like a good idea. Kaunti lang wading difference. Saw kasi an Innova sa dealer and was like, wow!

Anyway, going back to my question how far can I go with the wheels? I don't go offroad, but I do go semi off road occasionally.

I don't know the exact limits but the Innova has narrower wheel wells than the Hilux/Fort. My friend has 225/45 R18 tires on his Innova, I'm not sure if you can go wider than that without exceeding the wheel wells.

I also haven't seen Innovas with AT tires, mostly passenger tires, but you could try...

If it's any consolation, I just brought an all-stock Innova E to a mining site last week and it didn't get stuck. Mud was dry and packed though - rain and loose mud will definitely be a different scenario.

I also follow that thread including the jerky trans but havent yet seen the same like my concern. Im aware of shift shock but this is different. Shift shock din sort of but stationary. When manually shifting the gear from P to R. Minsan matigas kahit nakaapak naman ako sa brake. Parang nag lock yung gear when in park ( P) and you didnt pull the handbrake. Not all the time though minsan ok naman

Thanks for the info sir. Btw, did your friend comment on how the ride changed? Assuming the wheels fit the wheel well, any safety issues I might face while driving?

I went to toyota q av kanina regarding issues with my E AT paticularly the hard shifting from P to R. Just as i was about to leave the casa kasi hindi daw maasikaso pa kanina and ni re schedule na lang, ayun nakisama naman at the problem manifested and the service adviser couldnt deny that there is a problem nga. Tinanong ko sya if naka encounter na sya ng ganon and he replied first time daw. Sabi nya he will report it to TMP tomorrow. I hope so. With matching video clip pa using another employee's cellphone. Sana maayos to ng TMP or replace unit since i just got it july 28 and nasa 100 km pa lang mileage as of now

I noticed that too with my wife's Innova. I thought it was because I'm not used to gate type AT hehe. Let us know should there be any update with yours. Will tell my wife to report it as well when she has her 1000km check up.

Naka schedule ako to bring back my unit on aug 15. Dapat sana ay aug. 8 pero i will be out of town until the 12th. I was told to bring on a monday para ako agad ang aasikasuhin. They also got a video clip of mine while its happening at sabi nila ipapadala din sa planta or TMP. Sana by then may solution na. So far kasi they are clueless as to why. Both of them na taga service and warranty section

Sold my 2009 innova G black manual odo at 85k, last week for 550K. I was only expecting 500k, but first offer was good enough for me..That's the good thing about Innova, no headaches for 7 years until it was sold no more negotiations, buyer give me a price then it's a done deal.

My wife has an Innova E. I've noticed that the doors don't automatically lock when you you start to drive it. I read in the manual (p.171) that you can program it to do so, but for certain models only. I've been trying to activate it, but no luck. Not sure if I'm doing it wrong or is it not applicable to the E variant?
