Depends on your "needs" and budget.

IMHO, E variant is sufficient already. Standard power features + keyless lock and unlocking of doors.

Moving up to G variant does not really add any substantial features or value to justify the price difference.

How about moving to V? Not a fan of the captain seats pero the airbags seem like a tempting upgrade.

    V variant gives you

-all the driver's assistant ie. hill start, vehicle stability, etc

-better headlights ie. LED w/ daytime lights

-more airbags ie. side and curtain

-of course the middle captain chairs

    -smart entry

    -chrome side mirrors

    -dvd player

    and some other features

BTW, at that price point, the seating surface should be leather upholstered already!

Check out the V variant equivalent in India:

Considering I'd have to go everest trend at least to get most of those features.... Parang okay naman kasi mas mura pa din.

Here we go again with those who regard the Innova as a lesser car compared to PPVs.

Yes, the Innova looks nowhere as macho as any PPV. It's a people carrier through and through.

But the Innova is a much better people carrier - ingress and egress is easier compared to taller PPVs, and 3rd row seating is more comfortable. Also, because of the lower ride height, the car feels less floaty than PPVs.

For some people, geriatrics especially, they're willing to forego the macho looks of a PPV for a better ride of an Innova. For this market, even if the Innova's price has creeped closer to PPV pricing, it still suits their needs better.

As for other competitors - the RAV4 isn't a 7/8-seater and has no diesel engine. The Mobilio/Ertiga/Avanza are much more cramped than the Innova - yes they all have 3 rows but that's like saying it's pointless to get a Camry because a Vios can seat 5 too. More than capacity, it's riding comfort you pay for. The Innova also has a more rugged chassis which can take more of a beating than any of the cheaper MPVs. Refrigerator vans like the Hiace are much bulkier to drive, and have stiffer rides especially if you're not loaded with 10 people all the time.

Obviously the new Innova will not sell as well as the old one. Instead of the volume seller it was before, it's become more of a niche vehicle nowadays. But I'm willing to bet that despite the higher pricing, it will still outsell most other MPVs in the market. And until the Innova becomes a sales flop, don't expect prices to drop.

if mobility-impaired people are your passengers, don't get an innova or other similarly-high vehicle. get a sedan or a hatch, instead. your passengers may not thank you, but they will be gratified you did it for them.

Ironically it's harder to get in and out of our personal sedan and hatch than our office's old innova when I had a temporary disability, and when wifey was preggy.

I agree. Mahirap ang sedan. Mababa. You'll exert more effort sa knee. I had my acl surgery a year ago. Sa innova depende sa height, ako 5'7 magtip toe ako para umupo muna tsaka papasok ang paa. Maybe less than 5'7 will require more effort. Perfect will be a van like carnival or cuv like tucson, etc..

Amen to this! You beat me in posting this. Haha

As a family vehicle, I would much rather have the Innova than the Fortuner. The ride is more comfortable, and the third row seats are more spacious. The Innova would also be a better choice than most other SUVs out there.

3 years old? About 70% of its original value. Check OLX for actual market value.

Sold my 2009 innova G black manual odo at 85k, last week for 550K. I was only expecting 500k, but first offer was good enough for me..That's the good thing about Innova, no headaches for 7 years until it was sold no more negotiations, buyer give me a price then it's a done deal.
