guys, lets not forget to enjoy the principle of free enterprise. everyone has his own needs and capabilities after all, one just have to look and canvass for the best deal according to one's own specifications and needs. its best to remember that most of the time low down payment allows us to have what we want at lower cost initially but in the end we have to pay a bigger price and that most dealerships give us those so called freebies from what they get from the interests we pay them so at the end of the day what is important is compute, compute, compute then compare among several offers you get before you decide, the more the better and lastly one big factor is to be able to trust your sales agent whether he is telling you everything you need to know and answering your questions matter of factly, this part you have to use your gut feeling....
neophyte n mespero,
good day, kindly share us your driving experience with the apv type 2. also the fuel consumption. thanks and god bless.

Hello dr j and everyone,
Well as I already said before, it's my first car, so you can bet that my remarks would be biased and excited. I'm loving it! On my birthday next week I'd probably go to La Union to the Beach with some of my friends. Sun bathe a little. Swim a little. Surf a little.
The space inside the car is both unbelievable and fantastic! For my GLX, I can remove my driver and passenger side seats' head restraint and lay my back rest flat so I can lie down through the second row seats. Also, there's so many things I can put inside, especially this holiday shopping season the extra space is particularly helpful. For both APV and Swift (my first cousin has one) I think these are pa-cute cars. They create an impression that they are small. But look closer. Look longer. Look inside, and you'll find how big they really are. Like me. I look small on the outside but really big in the inside. So my car fits me perfectly, like a match made in heaven.
Fuel Consumption (FC) Fuel Efficiency? Well even before I bought the car I've seen http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?p=27397084 and knew APV is not for the Fuel Consumption conscious. So let me tell you that by those standards in that link, my fuel consumption is not cheap. My FC is about 8.5 km/liter only so far (Manual GLX - Shell Unleaded E10 was my first full tank but my sales rep now says next time just use plain unleaded which is 1 peso more per liter i think). But hey, I used to go from my house in the North Edsa district to work at RCBC Tower in Makati everyday for three years on a taxi, back and forth. So I still consider my gasoline expenses very cheap for my particular situation. Any car is better than taxis I guess.
Comparing with other cars.. Sorry I haven't had much experience using other cars. But I really liked the shape that's why I bought it. It's kinda cute and robotic and futuristic. I like robots and transformers and the front of the car looks like an "Autobot" about to "transform", seriously.
Oh before I forget, just a word of caution to potential buyers here, I received information that it's possible that some people in this blog are pretending to be actual buyers. It's possible that these people are also sales reps in disguise or people planning to sell you something. (Sometimes there are those that say they are sales reps from a particular dealership, but when you go to that dealership, no one knows that person. Not even their HR!) Not that it's wrong to sell here, it's just that such tactics give some feeling of deceit. One moment we're talking about "consumer" feedback then the next moment we're negotiating a sale? And then you'll find out that that person has multiple accounts here and creates some stir and pretends as if he's having a conversation with some other person but that that person is also just himself! Ridiculous. That would be kind of annoying. So as any consumer should practice due diligence before buying, please be cautious. You really have to canvass in person. And as neophyte says, use your math. Visit the dealerships if you must. Talk to a live person. Please.
So going back to the APV, yes, there's no mud guard. I was looking for it when it was delivered in my house. I forgot why but I can remember my sales rep saying something. Whatever that was, it felt like mud guard is unnecessary for the APV so I just moved on.
OK one last thing. Many people are surprised to find an in-dash cassette player. They laugh at it. They can't believe it. A cassette player? In the new millennium? Well guess what? I love it! You know why? My Eraserheads Ultraelectromagneticpop Cassette Tape is still alive and kicking! I bought it when I was in Grade 6 back in 1993 before Eraserheads got their first Gold Record album and started a revolution in OPM. Without my copy, they would not have made their first Gold Record. And now, 15 years after, I can still play it on my APV and other passers-by and motorists just melt in envy when they hear it. Classic. Oh ha.. meron ba kayo nyan?
Hope that was helpful.
Regards.
thank you very much mespero, that was indeed very helpful. hopefully this week i can transform and roll out just like you.
Merry Christmas to all and God Bless.
dr j
APV is a really boring car.
But if you have your old college or high school buddies rolling inside & getting crazy. Then we are talking of a fun car.
Heck might even turn into a bangbus hehehehehehe
hi guys, went back to another suzuki dealer and was able to haggle up a good deal. I even brought along my wife and my 3yr old son and yaya, my mom and dad, and let them occupy the seats just to have an idea how big the interior of the apv is, and i was very pleased with the roomy interior my parents are quite happy kasi they are not so cramped up in the 3rd row seating unlike the avn** (no offense po just comparing lang) hopefully we would be able to get an APV within last week of december or by the first week of januaryif God permits

Guys who's in the process of buying an APV type II, please include me in your list of buyers so that we can haggle on additional stuffs/freebies. Im just new here and just seen the APV II at Alabang but havent test drive it yet but maybe this sat I will.
Anyway just wanna ask, last time I've seen the car at MOA (Manila bay branch) on their show that agent give me a good deal on their promo like roofrack, stepboard, sunvisor, back-up sensors, et.al. at the same promo as Alabang but at Alabang branch walang roofrack at stepboard, standard ba na promo ito sa APVII or options ng dealer. Kasi I like the metallic gold na and planning to buy the soonest possible time, per agent new color daw yun at dun mo malalaman sa 2009 model ang unit mo. totoo ba yun? hope to receive feedback on this. Thanks! You may email me at Engineer_acs*yahoo.com.
