i think wala naman problem regarding heat. Ive treid during the 90s L300 and lite ace yuon talaga ramadam ang heat ng engine, itong APV wala naman. I think dahil seperate din ANg location ng radiator.

hello neophyte and daycode. meron akong agent na nagbebenta ng bagong suzuki apv str nakita ko sa trinoma nung monday. ano ba yung str? anong difference nun sa sgx type 2? may nagsabi sa akin na sgx lang din yun na modified version. ginawang leather and seat cover, 17 inches and gulong, may backing alarm, at may dalawang monitor sa front seats at isang mini monitor sa dashboard. other than that, ano pa ba ang kaibahan nito sa iba?

nagfillout lang ako ng loan form and approved na ako nung nakaraang araw. so right now im doing my due diligence before i pay them. cash out. is 82,000. pero monthly is 21,896 for four years. do you think that is reasonable? im an accountant myself and based on my comparisons, mejo mataas ang implicit interest rates nito. have you found any better deals so far?

thank you in advance sa inyo!

i found out that different suzuki dealerships do their own gimmickry to promote sales of their old inventory by adding accessories to existing models and present them as another variant. suzuki kalookan came up with their own APV type K, it is a basic unit (available in white only) with power features, dashboard & 2 headrest monitors pegged at 690K all in with the usual freebies. one would just have to figure out if the added features are worth the 130k they added to the basic unit price of 560k.

before you decide to buy that str, i suggest you make sure that it is already a type II APV, 2009 model (how much is the price anyway?) otherwise you might end up buying a dressed up first gen APV sgx.

i'm also extending you the invitation i made to daycode, let's try to negotiate together to get the best bargain in town.

this is an open invitation to anyone out there who is planning to purchase an apv within december 2008. let's use the power of numbers!

interested parties may email me at drmicorazon*yahoo.com

    hello neophyte,

thank you for your feedback. the suzuki str has 885,000 list price. down payment is at 82,000 and monthly for 3 years is 27,332, for 4 years it's 21,896 and for 5 years it's 19,079.

i am ok to defer buying until december if only to make sure i got this right.

please pm me your contact information so we can connect this weekend.

    thank you in advance.

by the way, i forgot to mention. i think i find it strange that the STR does not have captain seats when the SGX type II (manual = 775,000) has captain seats. It's also manual. And another weird thing about it is that it does not have airbags. for 885,000, it is 110,000 more than the manual SGX type. the STR does not have airbags and the captain seats and this according to my agent is an upgrade?

i'm beginning to think it's a dressed up GLX or something. but if it were a GLX (735,000), it would have made the difference from STR to a whopping 150,000.

i am going to contact sir lui i guess..

I just got off the phone with Sir Lui. It's confirmed. The STR is nothing more than a dressed up GLX M/T, (but you can dress up a GLX yourself naman mas personalized pa siguro ang kakalabasan). The best part about all this is that I was able to speak to Sir Lui who was willing to "set the right expectations" with me.

Sir Lui, you're my hero. You're a true gentleman. You just saved me 150,000 PESOS of the things I don't want/ need. We need more people like you in the Philippines. And as I said I owe you a treat if ever hindi ako bumili sa yo. You name it!

I mean it's perfectly fine with me na sinabi na lang sa akin sa umpisa pa lang na SUZUKI APV STR is nothing more than a dressed up GLX Manual at hindi "upgraded new model". Bumili pa sana ako ng STR. Importante sa akin ang transparency at reverse psychology. iba nga naman ang feeling ng minamadaling bumili tapos in the end malalaman ko na some things don't add up right. So ngayon I decided to switch or change my agent. Sayang pero I gotta move on.

This forum has been very helpful over the past few days for me who is new here. Thank you all!

Now I will just definitely buy a GLX M/T. Caloocan or Commonwealth?

I will update you guys how this turns out this is so exciting!

    Hello daycode,

I will check to see if we can get a further discount. The person I am talking to right now, he gave me a quotation yesterday then again he gave me a quotation today. They match. He's consistent with his rates. And I'm quite amazed actually. The implicit rate is not too high i guess. We may not need discounts comparing to other Suzuki Dealer's offers na sobrang taas ng down payment at monthly. His offer can be interesting if it were true and accurate.

He is coming over my house here in Project 6 later this afternoon to bring "the deal". I will tell him there's three of us interested and ask for quotation of each of the following:

    APV GLX M/T
APV SGX M/T (with airbags and captain seats and abs)
APV SGX A/T (with airbags and captain seats and abs)

Haggling is a joyous exercise for me now

I will let you and neophyte know...

    Hello neophyte,

I would like to shout out to the rest of the public my thanks to you for sending me through private messages your correspondences with your current agent. He also told me that he cannot give the same "bargain" because the deal you were presenting was from a year ago and that he says it's somewhat obsolete and incomparable.

However, I am with you on your point that it's really the "things" that go with the deal that you also like to hear from them. These are the freebies that they say are "free" but to me almost sounds like these are standard inclusions to any other deal (everyone I've spoken to so far say they can give these for free). Come on. Like the:

    "For Financing Transaction Freebies:

    ·Comprehensive Insurance
    ·Chattel Mortgage Fee
    ·3 Years LTO Registration
    ·TPL
    ·Lumina Tint
    ·Full Carpet Matting
    ·Khaki Seat Cover
·Five (5) Thousand worth of Gas Card from Suzuki Philippines .
·Free 20,000 Kms. Or 2 Years Preventive Maintenance Service (PMS) for both labor and parts like oil filters and etc."

    And the:

"For Additional Installation of the Following:
1.DVD Player with Headrest Dual monitor is Php 30,000.00
2.Headrest Dual Monitor is Php 20,000.00"

I really do think these are very helpful information that is ok to share to the rest of the public to help them decide if they are to make the decision to buy.

MAY THE BEST SALES REPS WIN OUR DEAL!!!

    Hello neophyte and daycode,

My new sales rep. just left my house a few minutes ago. I think he gave me the best deal I have so far. It's a combination of low downpayment, reasonable monthly amortization, a very helpful sales rep., and lots of freebies. I will list them here over the weekend so please stay tuned kasi sinulat lang namin sa papel tapos binigay ko sa kanya ang papel tapos ni-scan ko lang yung copy ko so scanned copy lang meron ako sa ngayon.

And neophyte, let me tell you what I did. I showed him all the blogs here and your Private Messages to me. And to make sure and be very precise I asked him one by one to give them all to me and wrote everything in a piece of paper. You know the other message where there were so many freebies from a sale that was made a year ago? HEHEHEHEHE. Halos lahat they can give except "reverse back-up sensors, Shark roof rack black, Cobra alarm" which he says meron namang mura sa Banawe. And some other things he added and proposed (very assertive sya) like "front and back early warning device", etc. Anyway I will post the complete list of what we agreed with earlier.

I will not post the name of the agent yet but I can see through his eyes some sincerity and honesty. I like him. I hope we all buy together kasi sabi nya he will check further kung meron pang ibabawas ang price.

I am so glad I was born in a free-wheeling economy. I love our freedom here in the Philippines to make good choices. And of course doing so with each other's help.

Please stay tuned and thanks again..

hello po mga sirs, i'm glad to have found this thread.. I need some info regarding the TYPEII APV, is this a good buy? I'm considering this family van kasi its priced reasonably and it's better sitting comfort on the third row seats. But what about the resale value of this car? How about the price of the spareparts and availability. I'm interested on getting the GLX manual.

sir red, actually drop in anytime kayo sa event. most likely around 3-4pm siguro ang eb. place of course is dun sa club suzuki (formerly club carry) location ng mga cars ;)

    mercury:
of course parts are readily available for the van. the apv both gen 1 and gen2 have only the same engine - g16a of the vitara. yes sir this is a good buy esp for a growing family. the price is right, the engine pulls enough power for 8 people sitting aboard, and you can convert it to a suv! (sport utility van!)
