imho i was surprised BFgoodrich, yokohama, toyo and falken.. are not in premium brands
Same phenom IMO yang GT sa Vic at MRF na tires. Akala ng karamihang drivers porket marami nagbebenta eh yan na ang da best. Ayaw na subukan yung iba halos. Kaya nagkakaroon ng halo effect sa brand.
Tried BStone Dueller At's at GT Savero sa strada, mas madali mapudpod GT savero by almost 30% in my estimation. ganun kalayo. sa GT savero 4 years max lang, sa Bstoe inabot ng 6 years.
MRF sa mga big tires? mas ok pa Apollo. At mas mura.
Vic oil filter, marami better at mas mura. Sa Bosch na lang wala na siya panama eh.

ako din.. tagal ko nang suki ng vic.. hehe until i saw the thread.. halos doble pa naman presyo ng vic.. hehe
I just keep wondering lately what makes those Taiwan, China and Indonesian tire brands cheaper then the usual tires we know from before? Brand pricing? Quality of materials? R&D?
Place of manufacture or labor probably isnt really much since the big brands also have manufacturing facilities in similar places.
When i was shopping the other week for tires to put on the rims i got for my daily drive, the price range of the tire size i was looking for (215/50R17) ranged from 3K+ for the China/Indonesian brands to 8K for the premium brands. I settled for the bukol notorious Dunlop's at 5.5K per pop because i couldnt find Kumho Ecstas in those size (retail at 6K+) while the Toyos were too pricey for the budget i had set, at 8K+ per tire. Goodyear, Yokohoma and Bridgestone did not have any stock of the size i wanted.
Cheap tire na madali mapudpod but so far yan ginagamit ng mga GT express vans dito sa amin kasi nga mura. Hindi naman nababalita na pumuputok or nagkakabukol but madali mapudpod. For a light vehicle na hindi naman performance car puwede na din siguro.
Won't buy one though.

Runway yung rear tyres ng L200 namin. I've run it through Tanay and while it reaches the limits of grip pretty early, it doesn't snap away dangerously. Durability wise, the tires are over 3 years old and only now has it reached its 20% tread life. Sira odo nung truck but from my estimates it's been roughly 60,000 KM.
the 2nd hand car i secured had Pirelli on it. Had to replace it when it bulged. Same thing happened with the new Pirelli tire after some time. it was noted to me by a tireshop that they are sort of not perfect for road condition in our country....i switched to yokohama
Also had not-too-good experience with Pirelli on my Frontier before. One tire blew for no reason at all, they were a year old, still quite thick and it happened with no load and at low speed (City driving). It may have been caused by a foreign object but it could not be determined. I changed all 4 tires to Bridgestone Desert Dueler A/Ts immediately after.
hi guys, i damaged my front tires and now seeking for a good replacement
stock tire is Bridgestone potenza RE040 205/50/R17. while it is a good tire, masyadong out of reach yung budget. Im looking for a good balance with performance and price.

yokohama S drive
hankook ventus v12 evo K110
Kumho ECSTA SPT
which of these would you prefer? size I will choose is 215/45/R17 (since konti lang nag offer ng 205/50/R17)
I will only be buying a pair, then replace the other tires as well when the other two needs replacing as well.
