Im not sure if its the same for new models but you have disable the awd by removing a fuse if your spare tire is a different size.

If its 08-13 2.0XS, size is 215/65R16. Stock tires are Bridgestone Dueler 687 which is around 6K+. There is no need to buy from the casa bec. they will still have to source from the same place as the other tire shops.

This type of tires are really made in japan unless Bridgestone makes changes in the future.

The new release for the iPremium is already carrying the 18-in, 2-tone wheels.

Maybe Subaru should start fielding a Forester with the 1.6L turbo engine from the Levorg. Not sure though how much impact it will have on its pricing.

i don't know.. but i think they do, or did, at one time... VW air cooled engines of yore, which inspired the subaru boxer engines, did... but they used squirrel cages and not propellers.
most modern front-wheel-drive cars (which is what we see most of the time) do not, either. the altis and vios we see on the road, use electric fans located to the side of the engine. (side of the engine, front of the car. front of the engine, side of the car.)
my guess is, it maximizes the engine compartment, and it's cheaper to manufacture and to fix.
(it also guarantees continuous purchase of auxiliary fans. heh heh.)

i am sure subaru aficionadoes have a more "inspiring" explanation. i wouldn't be surprised if subarus now, also evolved to electric fans...
every car evolutionary problem has an interesting history.

my guess is, the two fans powered by the pulleys who in turn gets its power from the crankshaft, generate a more effective cooling air volume, than a single, even if larger, fan connected directly to the crankshaft.
i think the designers are simply maximizing the volume available to them in the engine compartment.
also, the larger fan might detract from the boxer, pancake or suitcase (all synonyms) design, i.e., tataas ang engine compartment roof...

Did you get the 18inch 2-tone tires? I did and the recommended PSI is 38.

Dont worry bro. The brighter aide is you now have an excuse to upgrade to an 18inch. Seriously, if you haven't driven it that far yet, chances are the damage is minimal, if any.

Your tires will be fine. You even saved some fuel, the drawback of overinflated tires would be a little less braking ability. Also the recommended tire pressure should be checked when tires are cold. Short city drive will have +1C, longer drive will be +2C and a long highway drive +3-4C.

The 2016 Forester has more upgrades! I bet the price would go up by another 100K to 200K. Photos below from Paultan.org for the iL and iP. LED front and rear lights, DRL and color MID, among others.

Nice. The P100K discount I got made the upgrades "acceptable".

Thanks for the tip Dreamur and Walter. My 1600 km PMS is this Tuesday and the estimate based on my phonecall is P4100. Anything to watch out for? I plan to abide by the parts/oil to be changed/replaced based on that estimate. Thanks for anyone's thoughts.
