STAGE 1: High-performance tires -My 1st upgrade using 18' Forged Prodrive wheels.
STAGE 2: Stiffer anti-roll bars - Cusco sway bars installed.
STAGE 3: Computer reflash - still thinkin about this. Might have it done at Orange.

Also added Cusco Front strut tower and underside stiffening.

Do post some pics of your new shoes! BTW, where'd you score your strut tower bars?

Finally got an FXT! After a longish thread on choosing between the 2.0 and the 2.5, naka-decide din ako. Tapos na the paperworks, just waiting for delivery (gusto ko kasi may plate na). Question lang -- sabi sa manual convex yung side mirror? Totoo ba yun o pinalitan na for here? Di ba delikado?Don't you hate that they didn't put out an MT model? Kung may MT lang I'm sure a 2.0 or a NA 2.5 would've been sufficient.

ca89056, black was my initial choice. Silver was the final. It would be nice to have a brothers meet. Saw a nice black unit with sports grille and chin last week, ang ganda!
Kung promo girl yung SA ko baka hindi din ako inabot ng ganun katagal para mag-decide. heehee. Kaso lalaki eh.

After about 2/3's of the side miror the convex starts and gives a wider angle of view. Everything is well thought of in the Forester.

Although i wouldn't mind having that option here the Proshift 4EAT tranny on the 2.5XT is more than sufficient. In retrospect i would have preferred the 5EAT over a manual.

    wow, upgrade kaagad ha.

it's amazing how a simple upgrade like changing to grippier tires makes so much of a difference. if there was a universal complaint about the forester, it's those darn yokohama geolanders. after switching to michelin pilots, my FXT is noticeably quicker and handles and brakes much better.

Oh no. Dapat ko ba papalitan yung default tires? Habang di ko pa nakukuha yung unit? What's wrong with the Yokohamas?

They're just fine as everyday tires... for an SUV. But for a vehicle as fast as the 2.5 XT, sports tires or "sporty" tires are a better choice.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Did you also chnage your rims to go with your new tires? I'm just waiting a bit longer to have my tires replaced, thinking if I should go 18's na, I still want to retain some beef para di tamaan ang rims.

you don't have to. sayang din yan. i waited until pudpod na yung stock tires before changing 'em. nothing wrong with the yokohamas, but they're known in the forester community as geosquealers, kasi they squeal when pushed hard around the corners.

i was mulling over upgrading to at least 17's, but i decided to retain the 16's because i venture out to the snow country quite often during the winter.

Oh. Buti na lang. Hehe. I usually drive slower the faster my car can go -- But on the odd occassion when I really need speed, I want it to be there.

Finally! I can compare my Civic 2002 MT's acceleration to the Forester myself. Obviously it wouldn't have been a contest kung may MT Forester -- eh kaso wala eh!
