September 2nd, 2009 03:11 AM #492Baka you mean ethanol? AFAIK, ALL fuel sold today is unleaded ...
Sabi ng MI basta daw 95 or higher OK kahit with ethanol o hindi. I personally DON'T want to use ethanol though. Kasi it has high octane but low energy. Meaning you will consume more of it ... mabuti sana kung malaking mura sa non-ethanol eh mukhang hindi eh.

the sti is pretty fast. and it has a lot more potential to go even faster with a little tweaks and mods here and there. :D i kept my car stock for pretty much the whole duration of my warranty. ive always had fun driving it.
bou the clutch no your feet wont get swollen. im used to driving matic cars and well adjusting to a manual took me a week to get used to. the worst traffic ive experienced was over at balintawak driving back from nlex. it was hell. i drive my car everyday and i tell you, your feet wont get swollen maybe from gunning it yah pero not from pressing the clutch too much. unless you have a racing clutch in// i heard it makes the clutch pedal stiffer to depress.
on the matic paddle side well too bad i dont think itll come to our shores.. if it did id be first in line :D... altho the driving experience in a manual car is still different. it feels awesome like being one with the car

October 23rd, 2009 03:29 AM #497Subaru guys,
Question lang. went to subaru yesterday to test drive a forester 2.0X. i was impressed. CRV cant compare with the engine and ride quality.
just a few questions on your experiences with subaru.
1. SA of subaru informed me that i will lose warranty if subaru PMS is done outside subaru. is this true? why is that? its a simple procedure of changing oil, filters and maybe sparkplugs. why will it void the warrany? i live in makati, CASA is too far. i dont have much time, thus my concern that i cant have it fixed by my friends have who workshops near makati. kindly confirm if true. is this how it is with honda or toyota?
2. SA says if i change my audio system - speakers, subs, and add dynamat acoustics, i will void the electrical warranty and also the mechanical since i will be opening up the doors.
cant imagine not having good audio in my car. is this the same with other competing brands like honda or toyota?
3. is it true that subaru prices are "only" 10-15% more expensive than honda or toyota, is this true? was the comparison based on the cost of parts of casa toyota? or independent talyer; i always felt that they are MUCH more expensive
it seems like subaru warranty is quite strict and inflexible and a bit one-side. please enlighten me.
4. SA showed me flooded Foresters. he told me that flooded cars repair cost will be around P300K each. wow! incredibly high. is this true?
5. SA also mentioned that they allow personalize pick up of car from the house of the owner and returned after the repair. is this true? how reliable are they? how much?
6. SA also mentioned that MI will be first opening a showroom in alabang; next would be makaiti - they claim.
Hope you guys can share your thoughts thanks

1) I think it is like this. (I'm thinking) they don't like other people touching your car because they might do something wrong with it, like put a gasket back wrong, spill oil in the wrong places, hit something sensitive in the electronics, and so on.....
3) I'm not sure about this, but it will definitely be more than a Toyota (and just as reliable), but much much much much less than the European brands... Subaru is a premium brand in a way, you should remember.
4) A lot of cars, not just Subarus, will cost a lot after flooding. It depends on how much was damaged. The Subarus kasi have their AWD systems pa. All those sensors all together cost quite a lot.
I'm not sure about 5, since we always bring it in ourselves, but 6 I hear is in the works.

October 27th, 2009 09:40 AM #499I guess Subaru warranty requirement is quite normal and similar to other car brands. Best is you check them first before doing any modifications especially those that involve electronics.
I'm not sure about spare parts cost but one thing for sure is Subaru knows how to sell high performance cars as they treat customers as if they are in a high end car showroom unlike the other Japanese brands.

October 29th, 2009 09:22 PM #500Hello Subaru Owners,
I'm considering to buy the Forester 2.0x and I was hoping for a good deal. Sabi nung SA wala daw discount sa Forester. Is it true na wala talagang discount sa Motor Image, kahit konti man lang....
Appreciate you reply...
