a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend told me that the new inventory of XV's are here and have actually been unloaded from the ship already. Conflicting reports that they are either hidden in the pier or somewhere down south (sta rosa? silang? basta may S) and are just waiting for the excise tax law to be signed.

off course one can always replace the brand "subaru" with any other car brand shipped from abroad whose inventory is on the ground already and are just waiting for the price increase. Buy low, sell high.

hindi ba na lelevy ang excise tax upon release from customs? I'm thinking na dapat wala pang patong pag labas ng customs.

If the price/sales of Vitara affects the XV, then I guess they'll be forced to either give discounts din kahit na meron pa excise tax increase. Don't really know how in demand the XV is at the moment, but I for one don't like it to become too popular like the PPVs, kaya more competition around (i.e. Vitara, Ecosport, Kona? etc.) the better ang chance na grounded ang prices after the excise tax.

Also anticipating a lower demand for vehicles once the excise tax increase takes effect, which will probably force some dealers of less popular vehicles to give discounts... instead of intimidating buyers on the upcoming increase. haha of course wishful thinking lang lahat to

Doesn't make sense to hoard units since all of the excise tax proceeds will be remitted to the government. It's a sellers market right now because most employees already have their bonuses and pressured to buy to avoid the looming tax increase.

If you want to have an idea of what's available visit their new Pasig branch on C5 near Toyota Pasig. That's where the trailers from the Batangas port deliver the units for Manila dealers. It's full of cars and most of them don't have conduction stickers yet.

We reserved our dark blue 2.0i Oct 30. We were supposed to get the unit on Nov 15 but decided to advance the delivery to Nov 10 due to the ASEAN holiday. The unit was ready and waiting for us by Nov 8 because we already received the details we requested for the insurance policy.

This might explain why my unit has not arrived yet. My dealer (Subaru greenhills) said that the cars will arrive on november 15th but until now they still have not received the cars.

actually even if the new Suzuki GLX is never introduced, wala na talaga market ang Subaru XV, at that price, PPV territory na bigger and diesel. and considering that's it's just a facelift pero plus hundreds of thousands more, lalo na talaga wala market.
