Gilead (GILD) Remdesivir for Covid-19: WHO Advises Doctors Not to Use Drug - Bloomberg
“There is currently no evidence that it improves survival or the need for ventilation,” a panel of WHO-convened experts developing Covid-19 treatment guidelines said in The BMJ medical journal.

The recommendation is a blow to Gilead’s drug, which was one of the first thought to offer a meaningful benefit in treatment of coronavirus patients after a study showed it reduced their recovery time. The antiviral has been used widely to treat Covid and was among the drugs President Donald Trump received when he was diagnosed with the disease in early October.

The experts made the recommendation after the results of a global trial sponsored by the WHO, called Solidarity, found last month that remdesivir didn’t reduce deaths. They also reviewed data from three other trials and said the drug “has no meaningful effect” on the time it took patients to clinically improve.

The WHO experts wrote in The BMJ that their findings shouldn’t be interpreted to mean that remdesivir is ineffective, but that “there is no evidence based on currently available data that it does improve patient-important outcomes.”

The limited evidence for using the drug was weighed alongside the “relatively high cost and resource implications associated with remdesivir,” which is given intravenously, they said in a press release.

Tap water from water concessionaires contains small amount of chlorine which is a disinfectant that kills viruses and bacterias that may seep in broken pipes

Theres no need to apply soap for the fruits

Only 66% of pinoys to take vaccination if it was made available today

SWS: 66% of Pinoys willing to get vaccine vs COVID-19 | Inquirer News

Ang baba pa dina ah. Surprisingly may 17% pa din na adamant na hindi mag pa-innoculate. Sa Dengvaxia scare effect siguro attributable.

i read this canada-based study on how their chrorinated tap water affects bacteria count in his garden watered by their tap water.
    the result: it does not.

the chlorine in tap water is there to keep the water clean enough for drinking purposes.
it is not formulated to make tap water an effective disinfectant.

Since the start of the pandemic, wala akong binago or idinagdag sa paglinis or disinfect ng mga items or foods from outside. Same pa din as before. Diretso sa ref and pantry mga groceries, diretso sa lamesa mga take out and delivered foods, open agad mga packages from online shopping.

Just wash or disinfect your hands afterwards.

I don't even change clothes when I go back home after coming back from the grocery, restaurant or office. I only change clothes kapag galing ng hospitals or clinics.

During the first few months, I spray my shoes. Pero naisip ko hindi naman lilipad pataas ang virus, so I stopped it na.

Ang important is naka mask lahat. Ang maganda lang sa mga malls, they're so strict in implementing mask and shield wearing, so very very minimal nalang ang virus transmission.

So for the past few months, sa konti ng mga tao sa malls, napakaliit ng chance makakuha ng virus sa malls. But last sunday, grabe kadami ng tao sa SM, baka mabawasan na pagpunta ko ng malls during weekends.

Agree on this one.

If hindi mo naman kailangan ng pera then just take your time but I'm just saying na hindi barrier to look for work ang pandemic and if you have mouths to feed pwede na maghanap ng trabaho.
