Kailangan umandar schools and malls para umikot pera.
But as long the poor are not dying eh manageable ito.
My stress level is climbing pag nababasa ko situation natin. I know I shouldn't worry but I'm having anxiety about how this will played out.

PGH puno na daw...
From Dr. Ed Salvana, UP-PGH Infectious Diseases Dept Chairman:
Here we go. This is the surge we were waiting for on opening up - these cases reported now were INFECTED at least 2 weeks ago, so we expect even more. Some of these are also still backlogs, but it is very clear our overall cases are ramping up. We're getting hit with the double whammy of a more infectious virus (see my previous post) and more opportunities and hosts for the virus to spread as we open up. The important thing now is to protect our healthcare system so it doesn't get overwhelmed. How do we do this?
1. Continue with strict mask wearing, physical distancing and hand washing. If someone next to you is not complying, please remind them that they are putting everyone at risk.
2. Stay home as much as possible and only go out for essential activities especially if you live in GCQ zones or above.
3. If you have been exposed to someone diagnosed with COVID-19, don't panic. Call the DOH hotline 1555 for instructions. If you have no symptoms, you can opt to self-quarantine for 14 days and you don't need to test. If you want to get tested, it needs to be done at least 5 days post-exposure or it might be a false negative. If you have been tested and are just waiting for the results, please continue quarantine until it comes out. If the result is positive and you are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms, you can isolate at home or in the LGU isolation centers. If you are short of breath or are particularly vulnerable (60 yrs old, comorbid conditions), you should seek medical attention at the nearest emergency room. Coordinate with your barangay if your area is under localized lockdown.
4. The overall mortality for COVID-19 is less than 1%. It is much lower for young people and those who develop mild disease. We need to keep the hospitals open for those with severe and critical disease because if untreated these cases can have 5 to 10% mortality. Please do not insist on getting admitted if you only have mild symptoms and are not in the high risk groups. We need to think about our vulnerable populations and prioritize them so that they will survive.
As has been repeated again and again, the virus is out there. It is also now MORE infectious (about 3 to 9 times more than the previous virus) and so we must all be meticulous with our compliance or its back to ECQ and many people will die from the virus or starve. No time for fighting amongst ourselves. Man versus virus. We can do this if we all work together. Stay safe and let's take care of each other.

fresh and late cases
Chinese Gen has just declared that they're over capacity (Thursday night they were already at 100%). UERM, UST, Med City, and QMMC are nearly there (perhaps MD's here can provide more info).
NCR will probably need to go on ECQ again on July 16, perhaps for 2-4 weeks. We can then re-assess if we can re-open again if our hospitals go back to below 50% capacity.
This is likely what we will be going through, easing and then imposing lockdowns, until the vaccine arrives. I don't see this government being able to have a better strategy, to be honest, so I hope all of us have enough savings to last us until late next year.

All masks with vents are deemed useless against covid spread. The point is exactly to restrict air coming out.
If senior citizen surgeons can handle 12-hour surgeries with masks on, I'm sure you guys can too.
A simple disposable surgical mask has far better efficacy in preventing covid spread than any branded mask you can buy.

we just got a need-to-finish-right-now bio-hazard training module. apparently these 3-ply masks have to be replaced every 3 hrs lol. i've already asked for several boxes. i wonder when they'll arrive...
some of these masks have plastic instead of metal nose trims.
the plastics do not retain their bended shape. bumabalik sila sa pagka-derecho.
may butas tuloy ang seal sa itaas. if you have glasses, the lenses will always fog up. the virus will also escape upward with every exhalation.
Even with the metal nose trims, may lumulusot pa din na hangin fogging up my glasses. Hindi tuloy ako makapag mask while driving.
