    in my case,
    yes, but more because of the air quality and not for the new coronavirus.
    i work in a health facility not frequented by newly-arrived chinese.

    unless you really need it, leave it for the taal folks. they probably need it more than you.

    In case anyone wants to know what TDK means, it's Tai Diok Kah or "main land Chinese" in fookien. Nothing deregatory there.

    Bought 2 boxes of surgical mask for my son here in Bacolod and sent it to him, he told me out of stock daw, he need it for his laboratory in school and also as a precaution also for the virus, the school kasi is near tourist spot kaya likely a lot of TDK goes there, one even p🤢🤢p in that place.

    Just heard China spokesperson panelo that preventing chinese torusit from coming in has legal implication daw. Gago ba siya?

    We have all the rights to ban entry on any foreign nationals. Anong legal implication sinasabi niya.

    Zhong Nanshan, one of China’s top respiratory diseases experts, said on Tuesday that the outbreak had yet to reach its peak and that he expected it to do so within a week to 10 days, adding that there should be “no massive increase afterwards”.

    However, University of Hong Kong academics have predicted that the number of infections in five mainland megacities – Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Chongqing – will peak between late April and early May.

    Dadami pa talaga yung figures. Expected yan for the next few weeks or months because...

    We don't really know how many are infected/carriers, kasi matagal ang incubation period and walang practical na test kits available pa for mass production/screening ng tao. For now, temperature checks and self reporting (seeking medical attention) is all we've got... and of course, limiting the movement of people.

    We can't do a mass culling to contain the infection like for livestock (avian/swine flu)

    Vaccines will take sometime to develop pa, afaik, malabo na kayanin ng 1 year.
