Here’s What the Next Six Months of the Pandemic Will Bring

The race between vaccinations and new variant strains won’t end until Covid-19 has touched almost everyone.

For anyone hoping to see light at the end of the Covid-19 tunnel over the next three to six months, scientists have some bad news: Brace for more of what we’ve already been through.

Outbreaks will close schools and cancel classes. Vaccinated nursing home residents will face renewed fears of infection. Workers will weigh the danger of returning to the office as hospitals are overwhelmed, once again.

Almost everyone will be either infected or vaccinated before the pandemic ends, experts agree. Maybe both. An unlucky few will contract the virus more than once. The race between the waves of transmission that lead to new variants and the battle to get the globe inoculated won’t be over until the coronavirus has touched all of us.

Yup. I have the same thinking. With several of friends' household getting COVID (yup, almost whole household, not just one person), we are all just waiting when we will get it.

And I think our incompetent leaders are just fine with it.

The problem is that COVID is like a Russian roulette - you wont know if you'll get mild symptoms, no symptoms or severe symptoms.

me in 2020: sooner or later we're all gonna get it

    -

this virus is as infectious (or even more infectious) than other respiratory viruses that cause cold/flu

who hasn't gotten cold/flu in his or her life?

This will end next year. perceive, think and act. [emoji23]

Hinde na mawawala but it will mutate into flu like strength na lang.

By next year mas marami na nabakunahan and baka meron ng mga second generation vaccines.

Tingin ko delta na pinakamalakas niya.

At the end of the day dapat talaga magpabakuna. Kung talagang mangyayari yan na lahat tatamaan mas maganda na meron bakuna para hinde na umabot sa severe or death.

The virus would not simply vanish into thin air, pero hoping na din sana mag mutate na lang into a weaker variant or kahit simple ubo at sipon lang.

SARS did diba? Delta na pinakamalakas niyan. With more and more na magpapabakuna plus the newer generation vaccines, this will end next year.

    SARS1 is deadlier than sars2

sa sars1 mabilis knockdown mga tao kaya mas konte pagkakataon manghawa

    sars1 eventually went away

lalo MERS with 33% fatality rate

sars2 nagkalat sa buong mundo kasi madami mild/asympto --> carriers feel nothing or good enough to push thru with travel and attending events

    yes that's the goal

kung hindi na maging severe o nakakamatay ang covid di na ma-stress ang healthcare infrastructure life can go on

ang problema ung mentality ng authorities and the public

will the authorities and the public accept the existence of cases even if there are very few severe and deaths?

will the obsession with daily number of cases continue kahit halos wala na naoospital at namamatay

madami may zero-covid mentality and that will prolong the restrictions
