    OT

    extraordinary times eh

dami nawalan ng income (individuals and businesses)

ang economy natin supported by domestic consumption

if people have no money to spend, nga-nga lahat ng tindahan

so ang temporary remedy diyan bigyan mo ng pera mga tao para may panggastos

bigyan mo ng pera mga business para may pang sweldo para di magtanggal ng tao habang wala income

yan ang ginawa ng madami bansa

    --

you have to look at the big picture

ang goal is to keep the economy afloat

who cares who receives the money? (kahit di qualified ung nakatanggap, kahit 2 tao sa pamilya nakatanggap...)

the important thing is the money gets spent

naalala ko may isang LGU nagbigay ng pera they told people to spend it agad

    gets nila

    --

ung thinking na nagiging tamad mga tao pag binibigyan ng pera matagal nang issue yan sa US it's one of their main ideological divides

conservatives hate the idea of giving money to poor people while liberals say society needs to put a floor under human suffering -- that society will only tolerate a certain level of suffering and will keep people above that level -- like will you allow people to starve to death?

kaya na-create ang food stamps and other social safety nets

Dito sa Manila nag issue ng Paymaya accounts for seniors and PWD. So we are thinking all monetary grants will be credited doon. Hindi pa din, may siste na papila at manual pirma pa din.

Yung manual process / walang systema mas okay. Mas magulo. Mas madali dugasin [emoji23]

WHO recommends Roche, Sanofi drugs for COVID-19 to cut death risk

The World Health Organization (WHO) on Tuesday recommended using arthritis drugs Actemra from Roche and Kevzara from Sanofi with corticosteroids for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients after data from some 11,000 patients showed they cut the risk of death.

A WHO group evaluating therapies concluded treating severe and critical COVID patients with these so-called interleukin-6 antagonists that block inflammation “reduces the risk of death and the need for mechanical ventilation.”

According to the WHO analysis, the risk of dying within 28 days for patients getting one of the arthritis drugs with corticosteroids such as dexamethasone is 21%, compared with an assumed 25% risk among those who got standard care. For every 100 such patients, four more will survive, the WHO said.

Moreover, the risk of progressing to mechanical ventilation or death was 26% for those getting the drugs and corticosteroids, compared with 33% in those getting standard care. The WHO said that meant for every 100 such patients, seven more will survive without mechanical ventilation.

You're just one of the many of who misunderstood the 4Ps or the conditional cash assistance program.

For starters, it is related to education of children and health of kids and mother. If they dont meet these required "conditions", they wont get the money.

It's a permanent government program giving cash to the poor on a regular basis unlike temporary support to workers and businesses during lockdowns

    Pointing out the difference

    That's the topic

Got my first Moderna dose from the Red Cross yesterday morning in Mandaluyong (near Boni MRT); very well organized and a hassle-free experience.

They give you a packet with Paracetamol and Cetirizine along with literature about Covid and the vaccine you're getting. The facility is clean and staff go around all the time to disinfect seats and spray Lysol on areas where patients line up. There are also air purifiers everywhere.

It's quite a different experience to some of the horror stories I heard in some vaccination sites.
