maybe it was one of those new strains from which the pfizer vaccine had not adequate protection?

This Surprising Side Effect Shows Up Months After COVID

"The day Dr. Elizabeth Dawson was diagnosed with COVID-19 in October, she awoke feeling as if she had a bad hangover. Four months later she tested negative for the virus, but her symptoms have only worsened.

Dawson is among what one doctor called "waves and waves" of "long-haul" COVID patients who remain sick long after retesting negative for the virus. A significant percentage are suffering from syndromes that few doctors understand or treat."

    we don't know.
her life hasn't ended yet, kasi.
we are still waiting for how long it will rear its ugly face from time to time, like the mahiwagang bimpo ni dyalibi.
after all, the virus hasn't been under observation beyond 1.5 years...
it will probably take decades of study, to see just how far down the road the virus can still affect the previous victim.
    ditto for the vaccines.

Early adopters of Chinese vaccines see case surges; China plows ahead anyway | Arstechnica
Bahrain, Facing a Covid Surge, Starts Giving Pfizer Boosters to Recipients of Chinese Vaccine - WSJ

So some countries are planning to re-vaccinate with Pfizer even for those already fully vaccinated with Chinavacs.

Beijing naman is planning third dose.

Indicators suggest that efficacy is indeed low, and protection doesn't last long.

Two officemates got covid - one with "mild" symptoms the other with mild symptoms.

Both get easily tired even after recovery.

    Daming butas yung article...

Waleed Khalifa al Manea, Bahrain's undersecretary of health, said the vaccine manufactured by state-owned Chinese drugmaker Sinopharm, which has accounted for more than 60% of Bahrain's inoculations so far, was providing a high degree of protection. More than 90% of people hospitalized in the current Covid-19 wave, the worst the country has faced, hadn't been vaccinated, he said.

"Conclusions about prevention of severe cases cannot be made," the study said, adding that it "could not address the question of whether the inactivated vaccines prevent against asymptomatic infection." With no participants older than 60 developing an infection, the study also had no data on whether Sinopharm's vaccine works in that age group.
    Same with Sinovac...

In a separate, unpublished, real-world study of Sinopharm in Serbia, 29% of 150 participants were found to have zero antibodies against the virus three months after they received the first of two shots of the vaccine. The average age of the people who participated in the Serbian study was higher than 65.
The Seychelles, an Indian Ocean archipelago that became the world's most vaccinated nation due to donations of the Sinopharm vaccine from the U.A.E. and of an AstraZeneca PLC shot by India, with 65% of the population fully vaccinated, also saw cases and deaths surge to records in May. The WHO pointed out that most of those who had fallen sick with Covid-19 there were either unvaccinated or had only received their first dose. The Seychelles health ministry said it is considering administering a third booster shot to vulnerable residents.

Siguro ako I'll only feel somewhat safe eating out when nabakunahan na majority ng A4s so it's probably gonna be next year the earliest. Kasama sa A4 mga workers ng restaurants diba? I hope gawin mandatory ang vaccines sa mga workers in F&B industry, I don't know kung pwede din na ihiwalay mga diners na hinde pa vaccinated like ilagay sila sa smoking area convert for unvaccinated diners.

I know hinde nakukuha sa food yun virus but diners will have to remove mask while eating.

In addition bro, I hope the employers of restaurants will require their employees the vaccination as a condition for their employment though presently, that might pose a problem with Labor.
