Japan donates 1.2 million doses of AZN to Taiwan...
1.2 million AZ doses from Japan set to arrive in Taipei this afternoon | Taiwan News | 2 21- 6- 4 1 :41:
But with a catch...
The key point in the article. They didn't donate excess Moderna or Pfizer. They donated excess Astra Zeneca which they weren't going to use anyway.
So Japan can get enough vaccines for a population over 100 million but the great Tsai can't get enough for 23 million? Doesn't she have a high approval rating of 41%? Is it 41% or 15%?
Yet, she can't get enough vaccines for everyone because she wants us to take her Taiwan made vaccine in July that hasn't passed stage 3 testing.
Okay, never mind that people are dying right now. Making money off the people is more important. Gotta pay back the pharmaceutical companies that supported the reelection campaign.

The Japanese government signed a contract with AstraZeneca PLC for 120 million doses this year and approved the vaccine last month. However, there are currently no plans for it to be used in the country, and the 194 million doses from Pfizer and 50 million from Moderna that Japan has purchased are already more than enough for its population to achieve herd immunity.
Pfizer-biontech first jab not strong enough versus India variant... which is becoming the dominant variant in the UK.
Covid: Pfizer vaccine produces low level of antibodies against Delta variant, study shows | ITV NewsAccording to the research, in people who had received two doses of the Pfizer vaccine, levels of neutralising antibodies were more than five times lower against the Indian variant when compared to the original strain, upon which current vaccines are based.
This antibody response was even lower in people who had only received one dose.
After a single dose of the Pfizer jab, 79% of people had a quantifiable neutralising antibody response against the original strain, but this fell to 50% for the Alpha variant and 32% for the Delta variant.
The Delta variant is now believed to be dominant in the UK, with early evidence suggesting it may lead to an increased risk of being admitted to hospital compared with the Alpha variant.
well,
vaccines are evolving.
trying to get one step ahead of the virus is the objective.
our flu vaccines actually change strains every year.
Canada recommends mixing and matching AstraZeneca, Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines | CBC News
The National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) updated its guidance to provinces and territories Tuesday and recommended that a first shot of the AstraZeneca vaccine can be followed by either Moderna or Pfizer.
For Canadians who have had a first dose of Moderna or Pfizer, NACI recommends they can now take either of the two shots as a second dose — because they both use a similar mRNA technology — if the same first dose is unavailable or unknown.

A scientist adventurer and China's 'Bat Woman' are under scrutiny as coronavirus lab-leak theory gets another look
"The silencing of scientists, the blanket denials, the careful guarding of raw data and biological samples - these elements have been emblematic of the approach by Chinese authorities at every stage of the coronavirus outbreak. And they continue to obstruct the world's ability to get answers."

Fauci calls on China to release medical records of Wuhan lab workers - FT
"Top U.S. infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci has called on China to release the medical records of nine people whose ailments might provide vital clues into whether COVID-19 first emerged as the result of a lab leak, the Financial Times reported on Thursday.
"I would like to see the medical records of the three people who are reported to have got sick in 2019. Did they really get sick, and if so, what did they get sick with?" the report quoted Fauci as saying."

Myocarditis is an inflammation of the heart muscle (myocardium). Myocarditis can affect your heart muscle and your heart's electrical system, reducing your heart's ability to pump and causing rapid or abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias).
A viral infection usually causes myocarditis, but it can result from a reaction to a drug or be part of a more general inflammatory condition. Signs and symptoms include chest pain, fatigue, shortness of breath, and arrhythmias.
Severe myocarditis weakens your heart so that the rest of your body doesn't get enough blood. Clots can form in your heart, leading to a stroke or heart attack.
Treatment for myocarditis depends on the cause.
Mojiang Cave
Exclusive: How Amateur Sleuths Broke the Wuhan Lab Story and Embarrassed the Media--Newsweek
Working through the night at his bedside table on phone and laptop, fueled by chai and using Chinese characters with the help of Google Translate, he plugged in "Mojiang"—the county where the mine was located—in combination with every other word he could think of that might be relevant, instantly translating each new flush of results back to English. "Mojiang + pneumonia"; "Mojiang + WIV"; "Mojiang + bats"; "Mojiang + SARS." Each search brought back thousands of results and half a dozen different databases for journals, books, newspapers, master's theses, doctoral dissertations. He combed through these results, night after night, but never found anything useful. When he ran out of energy, he broke for arcade games and more chai.
He was on the verge of calling it quits, he says, when he struck gold: a 60-page master's thesis written by a student at Kunming Medical University in 2013 titled "The Analysis of 6 Patients with Severe Pneumonia Caused by Unknown Viruses." In exhaustive detail, it described the conditions and step-by-step treatment of the miners. It named the suspected culprit: "Caused by SARS-like [coronavirus] from the Chinese horseshoe bat or other bats."
The Seeker dropped the link, without fanfare, on May 18, 2020, then followed up with a second thesis from a PhD student at the Chinese CDC confirming much of the information in the first. Four of the miners had tested positive for antibodies from a SARS-like infection. And the WIV had been looped in to test samples from them all. (Shortly after The Seeker posted the theses, China changed the access controls on CNKI so no one could do such a search again.)
A friend of a friend succumbed to Covid in the US. He was fully vaxxed w/ Pfizer but had diabetes & a heart condition. He was working as a nurse doing home care, visiting his patients & most likely acquired it from them.
