Iba parin yung may test results, not much guessing. Naka full ppe, and every patient iba yung swab kit na ginagamit, walang contact other than the nose and throat. Another option is the rapid test kits, problem lang is you have to prick skin or extract blood in the veins.

Kaya mask parin sa loob ng bahay if with the family, eat separately, avoid airconditioned room with other people around.

They usually sched that first thing in the morning & when we had ours done, it was in the garage.
But honestly, I’d defer your question to the doctors here or elsewhere. They are in a better position to answer your queries.

I can understand your concerns Cathy. All of us have paranoid tendencies. But you can’t put your life in a bubble, put your life in hold. Of course you can’t be certain of the hcw, of the air you breath, the things you hold. But the best thing to do is to follow the guidelines set forth by the real experts & avoid the lapses.

Nose and throat nga lang e yung ibang patients napapa dahak or sneeze or ubo e di mag landing yan sa PPE nila. Kaya nga I am asking if anyone knows here ano yung scientific timeline sa detectable kasi baka nga in 17 days talagang negative na yan

That will be our practice from now on, social distancing and mask na rin at home

I had a swab test done in Oct 2020 so I know the drill naman. I had mine done in the garden. si dr d lang kilala ko na doctor dito and he does not give medical advise naman here, the usual na see a doctor. Sayang yung isang young tsikoteer dr dito hindi na active, he helped me dati nung ilang araw na ko hindi makalunok from sore throat, he told me what medicine to buy and within 24 hrs I felt better, though I understand that traditional doctors would NEVER give advise to someone they have not seen yet or without any lab works.

I want a scientific answer on how long the virus is detectable via RT PCR because I don't want to risk exposing my second Mom for nothing. She is free of symptoms for a week now kasi. When I had mine done I still had a fever back then, that was the 5th day ata of my fever

Honestly, I am starting to hate doctors now because of my recent experiences. Mabait lang talaga si Dr Cutie and Dr APS but these doctors I've been in touch with recently, isang tanong isang sagot, minsan di pa sasagutin yung tanong tapos 1k agad Parang robots na walang empathy! They probably just see patients as numbers or statistics. Maybe I was just spoiled by Dr Cutie and now I expect too much

I hope you realize that considering the situation, doctors are uber busy nowadays & answers to queries are limited because while they attend to your concerns, they have 4-5 other cases they are juggling at the moment that need their utmost attention too.
But, may I suggest you google the answer first. Normally, you can find it easily.

No definite answer if 14d or 17 days. Kahit sa isolation facility you will only be freed after a negative swab test. Some patients 2months na positve pa rin.

a little kindness from them wouldn't hurt. Basta hindi talaga maganda recent experience ko. If I ask anything here, it means I googled it already but there are too many different answers. Saka most china virus info dito ko natutunan

Cath iy it better to take a swab test for so many times....for peace of mind.

You'll never know without proper test, sa panahon ngayon dapat sigurista.

grabe naman, e bakit napunta na sa hospital e April 2 pa walang symptoms second Mom ko, she is isolated sa room and we are social distancing and wearing masks at home until now. Assuming positive, we will STILL be doing what we are doing now.

Ang dami dami kasi information sa internet, I just want to know how long a person is contagious at kung gaano katagal detectable

If she has been isolated for the last 14 days and so far has no symptoms then I would not worry too much. I think continue to do wearing masks and social distancing.

From what I’ve read 10 days from the onset of symptoms, the person is no longer contagious. Our LGU no longer require a swab to clear covid-19 positive patient following the DOH guidelines on clearing patients.

This is last year pa though baka iba na policy ngayon.

I've been watching 24 oras in YouTube since pandemic. Pero right now I don't like how they deliver the news, it's designed to scare and alarm people.

Cathy, if day 17 na, less than 50% na lang accuracy ng swab. So don’t do it na.
ECLIA antibody test is an acceptable if you really want to test if you had covid.

Usually 7-14 days lang contagious ang patients. No need to repeat pcr swabs prior to discharge as long as free from acute symptoms like fever and severe cough. Yung iba may tama na sa lungs kaya madali mapagod or occasional cough but non-infectious na and pwede na sa bahay magpagaling.

Yes, she's in isolation since March 29 (symptom started March 27), no fever na siya since April 2. It's so sad lang that even at home where I think we'd be safe, hindi na rin ngayon. Since I go out once a month, I have to assume that I caught it kaya mask and social distancing at home

Thanks, that's my issue nga, na baka useless na ang swab kasi may timeline yung accuracy (can't be too late or too early). I do hope it wasn't covid kasi no loss naman ng sense of taste and smell. Nakaka praning talaga magka fever and colds since the pandemic
