Government orders travel ban to South Korea, with exceptions, due to COVID-19 | ABS-CBN NewsMANILA - The Philippines imposed a travel ban on tourist-favorite South Korea as a protective measure against the spread of COVID-19, Malacaņang said Wednesday.
The ban will be “effective immediately” as agreed by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases, Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo said.
Filipinos who are workers, students, and permanent residents of South Korea are however allowed to travel to the East Asian nation provided that they sign a written declaration signifying their knowledge of the “risks” of traveling there.

It is still unclear how many people are under lockdown in the Grand Hotel Europa in Innsbruck but the hotel has 108 rooms.
The 24-year-old woman had travelled with her partner to her hometown of Bergamo in Lombardy, Italy, an area that currently has the largest number of cases outside of Asia. The two had caught the virus there before returning to Austria.
