A center differential works very well on pavement when there is traction on all four wheels. The center differential allows variation of axle rotation between the front axle and the rear axle and of course each axle differential allows different tire rotation between its two wheels. Because the center differential allows the front and the rear axles to rotate at a different rate, more power will be delivered to the axle that is rotating faster. So on a road surface that is slippery, once a wheel looses traction, its axle will be given more power or all the power because it is rotating faster than the other axle. Locking the center differential will make both axles rotate at the same rate so even if there is a spinning wheel at the front axle, the wheels at the rear axle will still rotate. Locking the center differential doesn't mean that the Fortuner won't get stuck. If at the same time one of the front wheels and one of the rear wheels loose traction, the front and rear axle differentials will transfer all the power to the wheels that are spinning thus leaving the Fortuner stuck. A locking differential on either front or rear axle will keep both wheels rotating at the same rate so even if all three wheels loose traction, one wheel will keep the Fort moving. If all four wheels loose traction, then better have a winch to keep your Fort moving when going solo on an offroad trip ....

    nasa manual yun conditions sir

Hi! I'm new here. My dad got me the Fortuner 2.7G (Gas) for my birthday, but the delivery of White Pearl units will still be on November. I just have a question, how much is the FC of the gas variant? Mabilis din ba iyong hatak? Pros and cons of the gas variant? I just want to know more details kasi reservation fee pa lang naman ang ginawa. So maybe I can decide whether to change my mind on the car. Thanks!

Had an experience with an old 2.7G Fortuner, early 09 model with 80k odo. Worst FC I got with it was 5km/L as shown in the MID.
