If the hole for the window type is existing then by all means install a window type A/C if not I'd rather have split type. Plus also consider the over all aesthetic.

Window type really sticking out like a sore thumb on a house's facade.

Most designers will spare the frontage. Here's an oddity....I know of very respected & sought-after ones who usually recommend split over window for clients, but do the reverse in their own homes & not coz of budget.....Go figure.[emoji4]

It doesn't matter if it's located at the Front, on the sides or in the back window type is not pleasing to the eyes.

Plus proper specs & planning. Strategic accessible pipe chases, when spaces allow, can help both prevention & maintenance. We can only share available options, sound advices, expertise & experience. Owners will always have the last say.[emoji4]

Interested in getting window-type inverters for our rooms. Is it economical to do so if room is just 17.5x13.5 feet? The other room is smaller at 15 x 12 feet. (Sorry, not sure how to convert).

Looking at the Kolin inverter. Any other suggestions based on experience? Thanks!

Rule of thumb I follow is that for every 13-15 square meters is 1 hp. This includes losses from frequent opening of doors.

The noise you hear is coming from the compressor. Since an inverter type can vary its RPM, it is generally quiet. Still, the "noise" is there.

The noise from window-type A/Cs are really not a big deal. Just a few nights with it, you'll find that the drone acts as white noise and can actually help you sleep. I experienced this the first time we switched from a window-type to a split. Took me a couple of nights to adjust to the silence.

Humans are very adaptable. The noise from a window A/C is just superficial and will "go away" in time. That is, your brain will learn to ignore it eventually.

Do consider brands, usage, savings, comparative purchase costs between conventional units & inverters prior to deciding. Inverters are proven to cut around 40% of energy consumption, yes, but It might go against reason if the usage is seldom or short. Savings can be much or lil & recovery, short or loooong...depending on usage.
Inverters are like modern cars.....laden w/ more complex circuitry & have more parts that may be prone to dying than conventional.... Always check the model's reviews & reliability feedback. Some do prematurely die prior to cost diff recovery.

Only thing I see is putting decorative metal cage to act as protection for intruder as well as cover the exposed part. But still doesn't as good a esthetically compare to installing split type.

Yes, you'll get used to it. The sound it makes will be like a lullaby. I remember many years ago, I was sleeping besides a boiler literally! I can't imagine how I was able to adapt but I did.

Just to reiterate, *travajante, inverter type will "cost less" if "used more". In other words, if you'll be using the air conditioner seldomly then you should stay away from inverter types.

I made some quick computations based on lazada price of condura 1.5 hp * P20k and 1.5 hp inverter * P39k, if i use it for 8 hours daily, at P10/kwh, it will take 2 years and 4 months to recover the price difference assuming 30% savings. Will 1.5hp be enough for a 20 sqm room?
