Pandemic knocks off P12 billion from Jollibee in H1 2 2
The P10.2-billion net loss in the 2nd quarter alone included the cost of P7 billion for the business transformation program.
"The spending for business transformation includes closure of 255 company-owned stores, change in ownership of 95 stores from company to franchisees, payment of pre-termination penalties of stores in the US and China, closure of supply chain facilities, and reduction in the size of the organization in various countries where we do business," said Jollibee chief financial officer Ysmael Baysa.
As expected

Market went sideways today despite bad news and even closed above short term downtrend, small NFB also, mini rally coming up?

baka dahil sa paulit-ulit na sinasbi ni roque na hirap na economy at hindi na pwede ulit mag MECQ parang last na ito.
Re: today's stock market
expected naman na ung bad Q2 gdp data
tsaka nag sell off noong na-declare ang MECQ
yan ang di expected
so nag sell off tapos nag bargain hunting
so ung nangyari today di nakakapagtaka
Re: sinasabi ni Roque
yes syempre nakita na nila ung q2 gdp data before na-release sa public this morning
kahapon palang alam na ng gobyerno gaano kasama ang numero

what was that all about?
--
the day before gdp data release Roque said the economy cannot handle another extended lockdown
syempre alam na nila ung negative 16.5% contraction before the data was released to the public
yun lang
dunno what that post above is about
High unemployment, little consumer spending, high rate of store closure, companies holding off investment because of lack of business activity... if these last more than months, it becomes a depression...
basically there's a big f**king hole in the economy right now
gov't spending has to fill that hole... where the hell is the stimulus?
It means dutiti govt doesn't own up their mistakes and responsibility.
Lagi sinasabi eh hinde lang tayo ang ganyan buong mundo which is correct pero it's time to lay down their plans for recovery. Kaso puro buong mundo ya ayon kahit mayaman na country.
Deflecting the issue.

Crush just told me that they had to let go of an entire DEPARTMENT. Wow, so nauna lang pala company namin. It's a tough job to deliver the news pero samin ganyan din the head of our division ang nakikipag usap sa employees.
My BFF who was an expat returned to Manila last week and she told me that she is also nanganganib of losing her job. Why? Because before the china virus, our company had a natural 10% attrition rate, but now NOBODY is resigning (except me LOL) so now they have to let go of 10% of employees.
I wonder how many more job cuts in the following months![]()
