Most SM malls gave 50% off sa rental fees and may rumor lang na come August they might bring the old rates back. Ang tanong nga lang, eh kung may tenants pa magpaparenew ng contract?

i am confident, they will do something to entice the tenants to remain.
after all, keeping the mall alive is a two-sided job.

hirap ng situation -- mall owners need to make money but tenants aren't even making enough to pay rent

you can't have too many boarded up shops in a mall mawawalan ng gana pumunta mga tao

What's in a name? Kahit ano pa itawag nila diyan, long story short, we can't afford a full blow lockdown again mas hihigpit lang siguro but business remain open.

BDO fears PH headed toward deepest recession in 35 years | Inquirer Business

The key to get out of recession is for the government to spend more than it usually does, Ocampos said. On the other hand, he noted that the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas had done its share of aggressively easing monetary settings and unleashing hundreds of billions of money to prevent this public health crisis from morphing into a financial crisis.

hate to say that i've been saying that all along in this thread

    the gov't has to spend

coz the private sector is weak

gov't has to make up for private sector spending

there a huge effin hole right now left by private sector

gov't has to fill that hole

Curtain comes down for another decades old restaurant...

    Shangrila Finest Chinese Cuisine Restaurant
    5 hrs ·
To our loyal customers and valued clients:

Shangri-La Finest Chinese Cuisine is extending our utmost thanks to all of you. The Management and its Employees are so grateful for having you as part of our 37 years of existence in the restaurant and catering business.

We would not be this successful, if not for all of you, who celebrated your great moments, achievements and even your simple get-together with us. Deeply, we are moved by your support and loyalty to Shangri-La Finest Chinese Cuisine.

So it is with great sadness that we are announcing that effective August 1, 2020 Shangri-La Finest Chinese Cuisine will cease its operations, due for the most part to the challenges brought about by the on-going pandemic, which has plagued not only our country, but the entire world as well. Our last day for Dine-In and Take-Out services will be on July 31, 2020.

We will cease operations but the memories we had with you will be imbedded in our hearts and minds.

Shangri-La Finest Chinese Cuisine's Management and its Employees will be praying for everyone's safety in this current situation of COVID-19 pandemic.

THANK YOU and GOD BLESS US ALL!
