Actually a lot of 3rd world countries are leaning towards China in the past, and sadly they remain a 3rd world country after years of friendship with China. Mostly African states.

Chinese people are probably the least war freak people I know of. They are very principled when it comes to waging war or conflict or choosing harmony and balance. The sense of nationalism in China is not that high as what the communist are projecting on their propagandas. They are being hounded by internal unrest of factions that questions the hawkish and suppressing leadership they have now. Their government (the communist) is the one itching for a war so they can test their military might and thuis project a truly tested power. Chinese military is strong in numbers but not proven as compared to US and Russian armies. When was the last major war of communist China in which they participated as a major player?

I admired DU30 during the campaign, and in fact I voted him. Siguro he had me at the Jetski Speech. Im so proud of him then. But now im dissapointed. Like other people I know na nabentahan ng kulambo, sando at pagiging taxi driver sa gabi, nadismya ako.

    Sleeping with the Enemy.
It's more like DU30 is the father of many daugthers. And he not only allowed China to molest and rape one of his daughter (West Phil Sea), he also offered his other daughter (Benham rise) for China's satisfaction.

Point taken. But I Beg to disagree. During Marcos time, PH boomed as prime power in Asia. Well, it was a debt-driven progress I should say, but still "developed" and advanced from being a laid-back country.

Ramos time PH became a tiger economy is also an example.

I wouldn't blame it on the US, look at Singapore, Korea, Taiwan, etc.

Sorry for your admiration pero sa ganun lang naniwala ka at binoto mo siya. I voted for him kung paano nya naconvert and davao from killing fields to normal na city. At nawala mga ungas sa city(most of them) not a perfect place but livable naman.

He will encourage you to wear your jewelries sa alanganing oras at dala ang mamahaling cellphone within the city. Bat ba daw ikaw ang matakot sa mga ungas samantalang wala ka namang ginagawang masama. Ang mga holdaper dapat ang matakot.

The trouble with PH is that, corruption runs tru the blood of all politicians. In all the countries you mentioned, US was there as their allies. No binding treaty like PH and US yet we lagged big time compared to the development they had. Its not really because of US, it's because of our leaders.

China is not the new world order. It's a ticking time bomb. Millions of their population will be aging to seniors in 10years and effect of their 1 child policy will be felt negatively. Now you have a surplus of supply, but a huge aging population that will be replaced by an already fed up millenials.

He's the only logical choice back then. Also, I like his strong stand vs drugs and his disciplinarian persona. I tot its about time PH needs a president that whips and smacks bad boys. Its about time na madisiplina tayo.

It came as a dismay though. All words, not much actions. Bola-bola lang kumbaga. Well thats how i see it, no offense meant watsoever

If you are going to weigh economic progress by reaching out to your barya sa bulsa, definitely it will be hard for you to see the point. Being a tiger economy that time was a big deal considering PH was laid to waste then after series of political instability. Marcos martial years, cory's failed and weak leadership - the brown outs, the lack of businesses, jobs, in fact OCW (overseas contract workers that is) boomed during this time too. Enter Ramos, before he left the office, PH became a force. In fact PH was resilient on the effects of the dot com and 1997 asian financial crisis due to Ramos' efforts to bring in manufacturing and drive exports.

I'm not saying Du30 is no good at all -- or at everything. He is capable, he is trusted by many, he just needs to follow his principles and not follow his advisers.

Tapos na ang comparison sa previous admin, we keep comparing kasi eh, like its a competition of who is the best ever president in the galaxy, but this is not a contest of who's the best. This is about leadership. WHat he's made of as a leader. How he's able to lead despite and inspite.

We should never be blind supporters. Yes Du30 is the president. But that doesnt mean that he's all-knowing, all-good, absolute-best. We should be mindful of his actions as our leader. If we wont point out his shortcomings, then who will? Emperor's new clothes is ready.

    Kudos to you

He wavers on that depending on who he's talking to. He only brings it up as an advocacy when talking to his LGBTQ supporters.

I chuckled at his absolute silence on the matter when asked about it during the presidential debate on TV. Kowtowing to the Catholic vote, just like everyone else in the room.

There is no rational reason to oppose same *** marriage, actually. Or divorce. Consenting adults should be allowed to make or dissolve civil contracts any way they want. For those who say this will erode the sanctity of marriage, they're deluded. The sanctity of marriage has been eroded by generations of Filipino men dumping their wives to live with their mistresses up and down the country.

Preventing gay people from being true to themselves only adds to that.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Iif something is wrong, no matter how many does it it is still wrong. Thus no one can justify a mistake with another mistake. The problem with divorce is that it males it easier to have a dysfunctional family rather than have the determination and mindset of a good family.

There is legal separation for those with marital problems and there is annulment as well. I do believe that is enough.

I completely disagree that there is mo rational reason for opposing same *** marriage. That is just as being irrational altogether. Who has the right to absolutely impose same *** marriage to everyone?

Let them marry but don't call it marriage. Let them have a new law, but being a minority they don't have the right to make everyone else bend to their will. That is both illogical and undemocratic.

With due respect to our UST Alumni in the forums, it's strange that the University itself has not given any public statement regarding it. Even if the school has nothing to do with the alumni association which gave the award, people would still associate the school and the org as one and the same..

Their silence speaks volumes about where the school stands on matters concerning public interest (or scorn).

In "recognition" just being a alumnus (not even a graduate) and working in goverment...
