    Police beef up airport security amid possible Arroyo flight

    MANILA, Philippines—Police have tightened security at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in anticipation of former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s possible departure for Singapore Friday.
    Southern Police District spokesperson Chief Inspector Jenny Tecson said that officers from the Aviation Security Group have been deployed to secure NAIA Terminal 1.

    She said additional police forces from their District Public Safety Battalion were being readied and other police officers have been on standby for possible deployment.

    Arroyo has made reservations for Friday but without any specific flight, said Hazel Tan of the NAIA Public Relations Office. The Supreme Court denied Friday a motion to stop Arroyo from seeking medical treatment abroad.

    Lacierda say they will wait for the SC new resolution on paper. Then they will wait for a formal ok from the SC that GMA complied with the conditions set by the SC. They are really stretching the time...So that's Malacanang's interpretation of "immediate and executory". Since it's a weekend, mag itlog muna si GMA sa St. Luke.

    May group daw forming probably with Malacanang's blessing at the EDSA Shrine calling for the prevention of GMA from leaving... Sumali na kayo!

    4:05 pm, nag issue ng Warrant of Arrest nga...non-bailable. Monday daw dedecide yung court whether to issue a HDO... May probable cause so the court issued the Warrant of Arrest to assume jurisdiction over the accused. Friday afternnon na, so wala na matatakbuhan si Gloria.

    Court issues arrest warrant vs GMA

    MANILA, Philippines - A Pasay Regional Trial Court (RTC) judge issued an arrest warrant against former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo after she was charged with electoral sabotage by the Commission Elections (Comelec) on Friday morning.

    The warrant was issued after the Commission on Elections filed electoral sabotage charges against Arroyo, former Maguindanao governor Andal Ampatuan Sr. and former Comelec election supervisor Lintang Bedol for allegedly rigging the results of the 2007 mid-term elections.

    The Comelec had also asked the court to issue a hold departure order (HDO) for Arroyo.

    For his part, Sen. Francis Escudero said Arroyo could go straight to jail if the court finds probable cause for poll sabotage. He said electoral sabotage is a non-bailable offense. -- report from Dexter Ganibe, dzMM

    Sino naisiahan? kaya pall nagmamadali umalis, I think yun camp ni GMA they have the info na this week ilalabas yan, so ginawa lahat ng DOJ na hinde sila mamas is...
